I'm planning on getting a test a couple of days before then I'm good to go providing it's negative. Going to do the rounds then on Xmas day.

Everyone will try and get a test , you would have to take one a week ahead even if you could and to get results in time , you could catch it whilst you are waiting , until the fast two hour tests come in then you cannot be safe

Fair enough, thought you meant other shops were open and flouting rules.

Supermarkets are ok round here, quite busy but most people respecting space and taking it easy, rather than acting like twats.
 
Regional scoreboard

Everywhere down surprisingly given the cases were only a few hundred lower and the other nations were lower too. So there must have been increases in areas that I have not followed as they were assumed to be too low to worry about- such as the SE, SW and Eastern England.

London 2588 - down from 2917. But still well up on where it was recently.

Midlands 2990 - down but not by much from 3130.

North East 1619 - down from 1883.

Yorkshire 3332 - down from 3832.

The NW is still the biggest region but at 3699 not by much and down from 4365. A fall similar to the total UK fall in cases today to put into context.

Here are the region totals 3 wks ago v 2 wks v last wk v today so you can see how things have moved.

London 1718 v 1588 v 2352 v 2588 today

Midlands 2180 v 2357 v 2638 v 2990 today

North East 1393 v 1163 v 1394 v 1619 today

Yorkshire 2350 v 3800 v 3731 v 3332 today


North West 4603 v 4587 v 4520 v 3699 today

As this seems to show only the NW clearly appears to be on a slow downward curve. Every other area is higher now than 3 weeks ago.

Note also there was a range of 3210 between lowest and highest region three weeks ago Today the range is only 2080 and the regions are starting to bunch together unlike the NW to be way ahead.
 
Once again Bristol in the news for the wrong reason. Police arrested 14 as over 350 thought it would be a gas to go on an anti lockdown march. These will be the first to moan if either lockdown is extended or they cannot access the NHS should they need to, but they are maxed out on covid patients.

Some strange interpretations of essential shops.

For example, I can not play golf, the courses are all closed, the driving ranges are all closed, I can't take a golf lesson anywhere. But I can book a club fitting at American golf and I can still collect in store anything ordered on line.

Liverpool the same. But barely reported anywhere.
Sixteen people have been arrested after hundreds of protestors attended an anti-lockdown demonstration in Liverpool city centre.

Merseyside police said they had taken the action because people were breaching public order and coronavirus rules that prohibit mass gatherings.
 
Greater Manchester had a good day today.


Only Manchester and Wigan over 200 and Wigan only just. Every single borough down from yesterday.

A fall of 333 from yesterday to total 1838 from the 10 boroughs.

49.6% of the NW total.

What I don't understand is why only a handful arrested when all present are equally as culpable

Its funny how the usual suspects condemn Extinction Rebellion for blocking routes to hospitals when they protest yet there seems to be no suggestion this action could result in the same thing.

The golf ban is fucking stupid. I kind of get that ranges are closed, risk of contamination on the balls that are shared by many. Maybe they are disinfected? I don't know but i'm guessing not.
The bays are more than 2 metres apart so I dont see a problem.
As for playing the actual game, golf is basically a walk in a field, stopping every now and again to hit a ball. I really dont get why it cant be played.
 
I dont believe the daily figures of tests or number of deaths whatsoever, haven't done for months. The daily numbers are complete bullshit, fabricated and fudged to suit an agenda.
Sage have also consistently got there predictions and forecasts completely wrong.

Where are all the sweden lovers now , herd immunity was tragic when we tried it and there as well

Said last week that I know of two elderly men who are members who have played golf with each other every week for the last 30 years or so, both are widowers now and live alone. They still walk to the club each day and walk the full course side by side and talk for social interaction. The fact is that if they had their clubs with them and playing a game they would be even safer as they would be further apart from each other while playing their shots. Makes little sense to me other than it can be viewed as the thin end of the wedge and would allow other sports to want to open again.

I'm not wanting to create controversy on purpose.
It's a worldwide pandemic and I know people who have had it.
However a lot of people I speak to and some are in the medical profession say the daily figures are not correct and are grossly exaggerated.
If that is the case it begs the question why? Is something else happening that we dont yet know?
