COVID-19 — Coronavirus

BBC showed pfizer update tonight.

95% effective over 65's presumably to counter the other vaccine 95% headline other day

They put up EXACT numbers of covid infections in placebo group versus vaccine group.

However, when confirming incidence of side effects they only said a minority of cases.

Is it concerning that the exact numbers or even % was not offered, eg only " a minority"

What range of numbers in that test would minority be eg could it be 49% who had vaccine?

Im just always suspicious when major companies provide exact numbers for positive news

but only use lesser descriptive if its a negative aspect. Maybe is a low number, if anyone has

definitive number, please share here, thanks
Can’t remember where I read it but I’m sure it was 2.7% suffered fatigue

Come on now , not much longer , two vaccines are in the bag with the big one for us soon , stay strong soldier

Please stop foisting this vaccine onto people, if the man wants his Christmas he will have his Christmas :-) This isn't about staying strong

Nope. We're done.
Wedding cancelled. Mask free bedside farewell, verboten. Funeral strangled at source.
Supermarkets and schools, fill your boots.
Just an endless list of fucked up priorities.
We'll do what we've done for the last 9 months with regards to the sensible safe protocol but I'll be calling the shots in my own home from now on.

Does anyone have any confidence that we will come out of this current lockdown on the 3rd?

I can't help feeling its going to be extended by another couple of weeks at least.

Yesterday, I was told by a Chief Exec of a London council that the likelihood is that London will go into tier 2 (possibly, Tier 1) following the end of the scheduled lockdown. I am not quite sure where he has got this info from. He's often guarded and cautious about what he says. Of course, the council engages with local MPs, Public Health England, GLA etc..

Personally, I would rather London goes into Tier 3 rather than 2. Of course, easy for me to say as I will not suffer financially. Just before we went into tier 3, it was obvious down here that people were becoming increasingly complacent. Pubs, restaurants, shops and public transport were getting very busy and it seems there was less social distancing and mask wearing. No surprise that there was an increase in cases.

Might be a "different" tier 2 though, I'm pretty sure they won't be the same as before this poor effort of a "lockdown", I fully expect we'll be told to stay home unless it's essential.

I recovered from the virus symptoms last Tuesday but I'm still knackered and in bed early at night, get up full of beans but by early evening I'm shattered. I was part of a trial for antibodies (University of London/NHS/ONS) and completed last Monday, showed I have the antibodies and hopefully will be immune.
I'm 61, type 2 diabetic, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart arrhythmia and under active thyroid but quite active, about a stone overweight. Was quite ill and was proper worried but got through it, crashing headache, brain fog, fatigue, felt like I'd been hit by a train but mostly good now, been dealt a good hand I think.

Think BBC Radio 4 Today programme announced that news on the Oxford vaccine might be released today. Only on my second coffee so may have misheard.

In my household and my children, the total is 8 of us have tested positive since September, all thankfully recovered.
What is the harm in us 8 meeting up anytime especially Xmas. Or am I being thick.
It consists of three households and every member within.

Because as trublue69 Reuters report says

“most COVID-19 survivors are likely to have lasting protection against severe COVID-19 if they become reinfected,...”

so you could all get it again, be symptom free but spread it round your community like wildfire.

More chance of winning the lottery than catching it again if you've had it since then.
