Too old, won't fit in the team and not worth it.

Why break a pay scale and transfer policy of early to mid 20's players, players that will improve with Pep's coaching, for someone the complete opposite?

Utter madness.
Are you looking for any other answers than ‘because it’s Messi’?...

Rewind 5 years and he's in his prime, your post is correct. But in the present your post isn't correct.
Remember when we signed George Weah? Relatively speaking this is the same, apart from the money.

If any of our rivals were doing these figures for a near 34 year old, I don't think there would be any blue who would say that particular club is being transformed.
George Weah still owes me for a fucking shirt.. the only time I ever got a name added and he fucked off the week after.. smacked arse

Jesus Christ, you clearly don't remember the state George Weah was in if you think that is a sensible comparison at all.

Quite the contrary.. I think Messi coming would be stellar.. maybe he is in decline but he’s still arguably the best player who has ever kicked a ball... the resulting media focus and merchandise sales would make it worthwhile for me

Fucking horseshit.

How thick to suggest thatvsomething negotiated for months comes down to a terse momentary response by messi to a provocative question. That is bollocks to topple even Your best.

Pep has been saying for years he wants to stay here. the club have been saying they want him to stay.

Maybe messi comes, more likely he doesn't. Either way, his outburst has nothing to do with pep's extension. In reverse, maybe pep being here makes messi joining more likely, on one distant level. But fuck off with that pep signed because of a irrelevant messi comment crap, listen to 16 odd minutes of interview with the club, he'll tell you why he wants to be here.
Whoosh!! He wasn’t suggesting Pep committed on the strength of Messi’s comments, that would be ludicrous!

Weah: Not even within the same realm of being close. Nonsense post!

People on this forum seem ready to castigate FCBarca for his comments on the Garcia fiasco, when he speaks a lot of sense... The bottom line is that Pep extending makes the prospect of Messi signing, more likely, however you look at it! So Messi’s comments the other night can definitely be viewed to be linked with Pep committing - the two are linked undoubtedly! That isn’t the same as Pep signed an extension based on tentative hope that Messi is intent on leaving Barcelona.

Lol! Thank god u Don't run the club :D

Past tense. Messi having so much to offer has little to do with whether he remains at Barca, what also remains is the toxic atmosphere that very clearly is driving him out. Every major article about Pep's renewal links back to Messi's comments from last night - there are no coincidences like this in football

It's on - just a question of when, not if

Leo made a comment after a long delayed flight that has now become the backbone of a fantasy that he wants out with immediate effect. He is so valuable there is little chance that he's coming anytime soon. The gossip though keeps brand Messi in the news plus City and Barca. Everyone's a media click winner.

5yrs ago no one would be able to afford messi,
And comparing messi v weah is ridiculous,
Am no financial expert, but even I no what messi will bring to the club financially.
It's a win win situation. and HRH is a businessman first and foremost.

So apologizes if I and the club dont take you advice..
