Greater Manchester scoreboard:

Key; Pop score rises daily unless there are zero cases added and is cases per 100,000 population to allow direct comparison of good or bad across places with differing populations. Over the full pandemic measured by the Pop(ulation)score and in the past 7 days via the Weekly Pop(ulation) score. Going up is bad - going down good. The more the fall the better. Weekly numbers over 500 usually go on government watch list for possible stricter measures.

Manchester 199 - up from 181. Total cases 29, 852. Weekly 4476. Pop score up 36 to 5400. Weekly Pop down 10 to 810.

Bolton 164 - up from 124. Total cases 14, 385, Weekly 836. Pop score up 57 to crawl into the 5000 club as the fourth in GM at 5003. Weekly Pop down 6 to 291.

Wigan 135 - up from 132. Total cases 15, 706. Weekly 1016. Pop score up 41 to 4779. Weekly Pop down 11 to 309.

Bury 78 - up from 73. Total cases 9256. Weekly 523. Pop score up 40 to 4846. Weekly Pop down 20 to 273.

Tameside 66 - down from 78 - fourth straight fall. Total cases 10, 010. Weekly 696. Pop score up 30 to 4420. Weekly Pop down 9 to 308.

Salford 62 - down from 74. Fourth straight fall here to amazing numbers given how high Salford climbed when students returned. Total cases 12, 877. Weekly 1139. Pop score up 24 to 4975. Lowest from Salford in months. Weekly Pop down 33 to 440.

Trafford 50 - up from 28 but 8 days now since over 100. Total cases 8385. Weekly 165. Last day of the student reallocation impact so it will rise tomorrow. But will still be easily best in GM. Pop score up 21 to 3533. Lowest in GM today. Closes gap on Stockport for best overall pop to 115. Weekly Pop down 17 to 70. Lowest Weekly Pop in GM for nearly 3 months. Over 100 ahead of everyone else in the county.

I wont even see him but will whatsiface him from inside the car and he is at the window. I haven't stepped foot outside the house for about 10 days now, when the wife goes shopping she douses herself with that much IPA she smells like she's been at the drinks cabinet.

Oh and Mum and Dad are all for it.
if it was me, I‘d hand him his present.
But whatever you decide is the right thing for you.

As you can see from the GM list today only Manchester itself is over 500 and fits the criteria of being on watch. The rest of GM has fallen off that radar. Manchester is high purely due to the student add on of over 3000 cases reallocated there a week ago and its weekly pop will keep falling until that is removed from the equation and in truth it is somewhere around 400 or less on current case numbers so will not actually be on a watch list despite the seemingly high number,

Gm has very clearly turned a corner.

Grandsons birthday tomorrow and am perplexed, can I (If I stay in the car) drive 23 miles to see him and drop a present off even if I don't open the car window to see him?
I would think twice buddy, i am missing my Grandkids like mad and would love to see them. More so if it was a birthday.

My son lives just across the road, literally 10 feet away and his wife is 20 weeks pregnant, my Daughter (Grandsons Mum) is also 20 weeks pregnant as you say it's difficult.

I grab my granddaughter from my daughters door and take her out for a walk. All perfectly legal. One household are allowed to meet one person from another household outdoors.

I never had grandparents growing up, what a lovely thing it sounds.

Kaz is alright, lets not start again. Our man asked for opinions and thats what she gave.

Not having a go at Kaz, just the ridiculousness of the idea. There will be more chance of catching it from the virus being on the present than getting out of the car and having a chat. Unless they isolate the present for 48 hours without touching it so any trace of the virus dies. Surprised that hasn't been suggested actually.
