I sed to go out with a policewoman from Birkenhead. Her dad used to be an inspector in the Birkenhead Borough Constabulary. Her mother worked with Glenda Jackson there. So they should have known what she was talking about.
But she said that 'scouser' and 'scally' depended on what side of the Mersey you came from. I am not so sure she was right unless l got it wrong, not being a good listener . Could you tell me what your view is on the two nicknames?

I would say that Scally is a name for an idiot that we all know within our cities or towns. Never heard it said for our chums over the river . There are some who call them 'Wools' or 'Plazzy Scousers' but I tend to think we are all alike. Most of us have family and friends who live or work on either side of the Mersey.

Got relatives in Wigan and scally there is a term for a low level criminal, I assume from scallywag, also known as a nerdowell

No its encouraged these days. A friend had a knee replacement not long back. They had him walking for 20 mins 2 days later and after a week he was told to lightly jog. If he has had the surgery then they will be telling him to do stuff as the key to it is not to lose strength and muscle in the quads and hammies
Sorry, I have had a knee replacement and those recovery times are a bit generous. You are still in hospital 72 hours later. Don't tend to start physio for 2-3 weeks. Was off work for 12 weeks & I had an office job at the time. 2 years later & just about can jog now.

If they are top when VVD comes back he will give them a huge momentum and will go on and win it.

But the way we did not go for their throat 2 weeks ago when they were there for taking, we even missed a pen to go 2-1 up, is criminal.

The way they rect to the 2 points dropped vs us, and the way we reacted to the 2 points dropped at home vs them, very big difference mentally imo.

I dont feel on our players that they hate dropping points enough. The two titles in a row made them lose their hunger. We should have go on and refresh the squad 2019 summer big time and bring in 2-3 clear improvement on the first 11, instead we did a Cancelo-Danilo business and Rodri for Fernandinho while messing up not replacing Kompany (and missing out on magic Maguire lol).
Cancelo to date still cannot play his RB position as he is not better than Walker, and Rodri is half the player than Fernandinho in his prime.

I hink most our issues are rooted in the mentality, self belief, hunger department, but some clearly in the tactical mistakes of Pep which makes players lose their confidence for sure.

They are miles better than we are are and unless Pep recognises he’s on a path of destruction with his team shape and personal.. they will pull away further. Grim times.

I got it wrong. She was talking about wackers (no typo) not scallies.

They’ve still let 16 goals in this season, joint worst in the top 10. They’ve been pretty fortunate so far.

That random freak Villa game is contributing an awful lot to that tbf. Leeds one too. 10 in those 2 alone. Not been great defensively, but there are already signs that it shouldn't be a problem for them, annoyingly, if they keep banging them in. Which they are.

Can you have 2 random freak games in 9?

I thought Leicester had a good chance at beating them today with all of the injuries the dippers have. They didn't even lay a glove on them. Embarrassing performance from an attacking point of view.
