Clare Foges who i quite rate as a writer is quite scathing about the Tories today in her column in the Times.

She says the Tories are retoxifying their reputation in part due to this ridiculous notion that being a "high value" traveller means the isolation rules don't apply in the same manner as to a family coming back from holiday.

She is spot on as well. Its another case of One Rule For Us, fuck the rest.

I am starting to think that those at the top have taken the decision to do whatever it takes to line pockets and are resigned to losing the next election. Listening today on the radio from a guy from Manchester who is part of a group campaigning over flats and bad cladding - he says there are thousands in Manchester alone.


Thatcher targeted creating home owners to turn voters into Tory voters and encourage people into owning their own business or becoming freelance/self employed because research showed these people are the Tory rank and file. With the flat owners where the injustice is being created where they are expected to pay huge sums to make their homes safe and sellable whilst free holders milk it in from off shore accounts where the money goes and the Excluded who have been abandoned for nearly a year now Johnsons cabal are creating a voter animosity in their own back yard to a level thats unimaginable.

Then there is the Brexit debacle that they may have factored in but I doubt to the extent that is coming over the hill. They couldn't have foreseen Covid but were pretty fucking lackadaisical initial approach and have been piss poor throughout.

I am sure they get the numbers they know where things are going and the twats at the top are just making what they can out of it before the inevitable.

If you read through the Conservative 'manifesto' you'll see that they know that they will struggle next time round as there is a clear focus on voter suppression in it . Making people prove their identity at polling stations bu producing passports and driving licences (prejudices the vote in poor and inner city areas as well as from the elderly) , redrawing of constituency boundaries (suppose to be the job of the electoral commission and shouldn't be influenced by any political party - so why put it in your manifesto) Enabling ExPats who no longer live in the UK to vote (The Tory retired) Maintaining the minimum voting age at 18 and making it more difficult to vote by post.
