I think it’s because May promised that NI would have exactly the same agreement and terms with the EU as the rest of the UK.

Because this distinguishes them as different to the island of Great Britain, the unionists in NI are unhappy.

Not to be arrogant but half way through last year I said that is the arrangement Johnson would go for as it’s the only one that can be done, whilst preserving the GFA.

NI will leave the EU CU in its entirety once the tech is available, and once they vote. They think the tech is about 3/4 years away.
Good job we predominantly voted to remain...even before this complete shitshow :-)

No. That avoiding discussing the latest brexit news because it's pretty fucking shit by posting about 'winning' the ref or 'federalism' or anything but.
You inferred that people voting leave on the premise they were against a federal Europe were "lies" as it was never going to happen, nor would it happen.

I provided examples of how a federal Europe is not a 'lie' but a genuine, determined campaign by many in the EU who want to see it come to fruition.

We ARE discussing (or trying to) discuss the latest brexit news; it's people like you who keep on the "brexit is shit!" bandwagon that bores everyone to tears.

Don't be daft.
Several gobby leavers on here have assured me numerous times that the tories would not only uphold current workers right after brexit, they'd strenghten them.
And nothing about this article suggests that is going to happen in the UK nor is it even referencing what's going on in the UK. Its merely more gloomer assumptions based on nothing, so what are you bleating about?

Exactly.

That's why the Tories want removal of employment rights protections so they can improve them to better than EU standards.

I’m fairly certain it’s your Parliament that will vote rather than public.

I do have to say the people of NI have been a credit to themselves, mostly, throughout this shit show.

Any change to the status of Northern Ireland within the UK can only be agreed with the consent of the people :-)...but you know that :-)

Just heard it reported that Johnson had announced that “no British Prime Minister can accept” the terms offered by the the EU.

I remember the exact same words being used by Johnson about an Irish Sea border.

Sounds like the deal’s on then.

Technically they’re changing the status within the EU, not the UK and therefore it’s the parliament that decides.

I am saying this but this might not even be what’s happening lol but that’s what I think it is!
