Watching the last episode of Queen's Gambit tonight...been excellent, best thing in a long time.

Has anyone watched Defending Jacob? Was going to start that next
 
I’m about 5 episodes into season 1 of Barry (2015/16?) and, while it’s not ‘great’ TV, it’s actually quite compelling.
For those who don’t already know, it’s a story about a paid assassin wanting to quit his trade to be an actor, and the conflicts that arise.
It’s a black comedy with love interest - not hilarious but enough to raise the occasional smile.
Afternoon or early evening viewing for me, as I’ll watch the harder stuff later ;-)

I really enjoyed Barry. I think it gets better as it goes and wait till you get to around the middle of season 2, the episode with the extended fight scene is bloody hilarious.
 
I have watched all but the last episode of the Queens Gambit. Started off loving it, the last couple of episodes have dragged a bit though. Sincerely hope that the final episode raises the game a good bit.

I loved every single second of it, thought it was great. What made you feel like its dragging?

So I really thought her mother was a well drawn and acted character so that was a bit of a gap. I found her sudden deterioration following her second defeat by the Russian puzzling and a little unbelievable. In addition, just not that much of a story development compared to the first three episodes. The actor that plays Meg is obviously a rising star and very good. Its beautifully made and shot and the soundtrack is superb.

Got 2 episodes to go and love it.
Who the hell is Meg though?
 
Got a Now TV Entertainment pass for a month so just watched "The Night Of" from a few years ago & "The Undoing". Both were very good.
