But if you spit at a little girl and than go out amongst liverpool fans in the middle of a pandemic to celebrate their league win it's fine !

Nothing like double standards, Sky ! A case of discrimination ?
They are all so profusely apologetic when they get caught but its obvious that they would do it again if they had not been caught.
Bloody hypocrites.

Stunned City let that **** in to our stadium a day after he was filmed milling about with those rats without a mask. Disgusting human being.

I heard on the radio that Citys haul of 16 points in their unbeaten matches in the CL was the best ever by an English club but if so its been kept very secret. I do remember us getting 15 points and only finishing second.
Anyoneknow if it was correct about the 16 points? I know the media are very keen on things like this.

You mean Sky Sports, BBC Football, The Guardian and the Mail haven't been going round anti-racism groups to see if any of them would give a quote on Cavani?

Sky and BT haven't asked current players in the after game interview what they think of Cavani's post?
bet United are glad they're not playing Spurs on Saturday. No way Maureen would keep his trap shut.

Think it's the joint best, might be wrong

Well the rules were changed. Are you suggesting they should never change the rules? The old system gave too much to the ‘European Royalty’, putting United, Liverpool and Chelsea in Pot 1 every year.

A couple of seasons earlier Borussia Dortmund were in Pot 4 (I think) of City’s group, despite being German Champions. Ajax were in Pot 3 (?) as Dutch Champions. Real Madrid were in Pot 1 and City in Pot 2. That put the Champions of three of the top four leagues into one group a long with the Champions of one of the stronger Leagues.

With outcomes like that, it was no surprise they changed the rules. I would have preferred the old rules even though it went against City in the past. City would be in Pot 1 every season they qualified.
Bit strange how that only ever happened to City though tbf

One might expect the campaigning group Kick It Out to condemn racism in the top tier of English domestic football, and you will be pleased to note that they have made a statement about Cavani's tweet.

We are aware of a comment made last night on social media by Edinson Cavani that, in its native tongue, can be offensive in some contexts.

We understand that the FA is investigating and the club and player are co-operating with that investigation. We await the outcome of that investigation.

That's pretty unequivocal condemnation there, you might think!

Kick It Out also spoke out after Dele Alli posted an offensive video on Snapchat earlier this year. This is what they had to say.

We were disappointed to see the video recently posted by Dele Alli on his social media. However, we are pleased that Dele has acknowledged his mistake and apologised for the incident.

Social media provides a welcome and powerful platform for players to connect with fans in a positive way. But racist stereotypes are not acceptable as banter to be broadcast on social media.

Again, stern words of condemnation from the anti-racism campaigning group. This was to be expected though, because this incident came so soon after Bernardo's tweet, so footballers should have heeded the lessons from the City player's case.

This is what Kick It Out had to say after Bernardo posted his tweet, which also had no malicious intent.

We are extremely disappointed to see the tweet posted by Bernardo Silva, which has since been deleted. Racist stereotypes are never acceptable as ‘banter’, and we’re shocked that someone who is a role model to millions has failed to understand the discriminatory nature of his post.

The FA have been notified and we believe that retrospective action should be taken, including mandatory education – which is vital to challenge offensive behaviour such as this.

Quite a difference in their tone in their statements about three very similar incidents. It seems to me that the anti-discrimination group is hoist with their own petard.

I used to work for a national newspaper. Everything you were ever told was a lie, everything you were ever told about bias, every time you were called ‘paranoid’, everything you ever heard about clickbait and certain red shirt teams driving ‘traffic’ so gettting unreasonably excessive coverage, is absolutely 100% true.
So fucking bent it it unreal, and that was a so-called ‘campaigning’ newspaper which championed the underdog.
Unless, of course, said underdog’s interests conflicted with the two red shirt teams most of their management supported.
Especially the team covered by one particular regional paper they also owned, and where a disproportionate number of their management, editors and sports desk hailed from.
You know, the sports desk on a national paper that live blogged a steel beam being moved into position by a crane. Nor metioning whatsoever the Rachman practices that same club employed to demolish houses and get that crane in there in the first place.
As they say, ashamed of nothing, offended by everything

Well played. The hypocrisy and double standards laid bare

Are you saying that the club are shit bags who never fight the Blue corner and don’t give a fuck about how we’re percieved?

As this has been going on so long, can those on the club supporters system confirm that they have raised this question?
It has been done to death on here for years, the club hierarchy favours diplomacy over warfare every time and nothing apparently will change that, no matter what is said or written about us

We have always been the outsiders. What really brought it home to me was when as a youngster we won the league at Newcastle. The BBC cameras of course were at Old Trafford for the United v Sunderland match (supposed to be a coronation for the Rags)
The first person interviewed on Grandstand when the results came through was Matt Busby (who to be fair was totally gracious in defeat) then they went to Newcastle for Joe Mercer.
And naturally we were the second game on that night's Match of the Day with some grainy highlights from St James's Park. They didn't even televise our European final victory live two seasons later.
The media in the UK will never be onside. Pep has used their hostility to galvanise our team's morale. We may be a rich club but we are still anti-establishment, just like most of our belligerent fanbase. I love it.
Td;lr City as always doing it our own way.

There was a banner I saw unfortunately during a Covid protest I think but, the sentiment sums true Mancs & City up.

Manchester we do things differently up here.

The only thing that happened in the CL this week was Salah breaking the dips scoring record in the compy with 22....City's record points total (funnily enough Rangers have just had more group points than any Scottish team ever although in the Europa & I've already heard more about that in England than I have about our points record), Kuns 41st went almost under the radar, oh and some team that are great at turning corners were knocked out but similar to the City stuff blink and you'd miss it.

If we win on Saturday the coverage in the media will be as little as they can possibly get away with whereas, a raggy result will turn places like the BBC in the scum OS & the press into a raggy fanzine.

I'm getting grrr nice & early for this one.

BRING IT FUCKING ON!!!!!!!!

the one thing we can't blame on the media is our lack of a backbone . we never fight back. its open season on us,and we allow it .

pathetic .
Is it goading and opening up "clic bait" revenue without any hope of reversing the bias reporting? Hornets nest, can of worms? Whatever, the outcome I can only see us getting mullered on Social Media as it's occupied by a majority of fucking morons.

I tell you what that are keen to talk about is how the scouse youngsters fared in champs league. They made sure the public was aware of the reason they only got a draw. Never would’ve heard a dicky bird if pep had played the youth.
