Hilarious. Remember when Rooney walked up to Wigan player and blatantly elbowed him off the ball? No red and no punishment, football carried on fine
Yer've just brought it back to me - but there's been a string of England/FArce players who have escaped a fitting sanction 'cos they thought the misgoverning body might get the same response that Shearer offered when he 'tripped' over Lennon's face!

Honesty guys why do you watch sky, bt etc or buy papers ?
If City arent bothered by the shit they write , then ignore it.

I dont watch any football news etc or buy a paper, havent for over 7 years now and my world is alot better for it.

I only know what's been said by the media thread here or any story that pops up on my Google news app and most of the time I just read the headline.

I felt I had to defend City when people at work or in the pub, would start going on about say the Aguero and Massey for example but now I just shrugged my shoulders and smile. It's a lot less stressful. If City wouldnt fight the press/media why should I in the pub or workplace ?
It is sad though, I used to love keeping fully in the loop with all different sports news via all forms of media, now I've blanked it out that much I'd struggle to tell you who is in which division sometimes.

The raggy/dip media fanboys have much to answer to.

But they could back us as an English team in Europe like they do with everyone else?
Why pretend? They want us to fail. Listen to the coms on a champions league game. They will the foreign team to score. The talk about all the negatives and constantly knock the club and management.

One of Keown's first comments was about how City should have done better during the 10 years they've been in the Champions league. I wonder what he thinks of Arsenals one final in 20 plus years of CL football?
Set the tone for the night and I muted it just after both commentators showed their disappointment at City's penalty not being overturned by VAR
You could argue that all English teams (especially Arsenal) have under-performed in the CL for decades (at least since the 80s) considering their huge financial advantage. I think the main problem is the incredible intensity of the PL with no easy games, too many fixtures (including internationals), and a lack of a proper winter break. The dice have always been loaded for clubs like Real Madrid.

There is virtually no coverage of football in the UK apart from the big six, and even that coverage is dominated by just two clubs. The press and media essentially ignore most teams. Even being top of the league with a world class manager, Everton are shut out.
The BBC for example fails totally in its public service remit. There are many more people who don't support United and Liverpool than those who do.
BBC news is the same with its London-centric view of the world even though 65 million people live outside the capital. It's one of the reasons millions of people have become alienated in the UK. Football is just a symbol of a wider problem.

Very well put. And puts a digit on the crux of the matter.
catering for the lowest denominato, chasing a dwindling audience, by appealing more and more to a select few. It’s a vicious circle they can’t seem to break, despite it being the best thing they could ever do For the good of themselves and football.
