Return of Supporters

We're told that Liverpool didn't sell out their 2,000 but they don't have a lot of season ticket holders in Liverpool. Be interesting to see how we do, having a lot more in the local area.

Does look like that will be an issue in the email from City - just need to be a season ticket holder in Tier 2 or lower...

New email out from city there at 7pm confirming the MEN story from earlier - looks like Manchester going into tier 2 and Newcastle the first game for a lucky 2k.

For myself im coming from NI and not really sure what our "tier" situation is as we are different to the other nations. Our lockdown ended today (11th) so its just normal again with a few smaller specific restrictions.

I will probably skip this game but hopefully get to one in Jan or Feb. Flights are limited though.

Anyone from Scotland, Wales, ROI etc any thoughts?

Sounds fair and reasonable, hope those picked actually bother to make their presence heard and enjoy it but it’s a big nope from me. Zero interest in going back until crowds are at close to full capacity and/or my season ticket is under threat from choosing not to go.

Great news! Good luck to everyone in the ballot (if we go into tier 2)
If the fans are allowed in, which supporters forum watching the game will be absolutely hilarious and really witty by saying “looks like the Emptihad on a normal matchday”?
I’d go for someone not abvious like the Spurs forum. They like having a few digs.
£35.00 aswell, well done City

Iv worked in an hospital all through this pandemic and my wife on ITU
I'll be there if i get lucky

if they only have 5,000 season ticket holders within their l postcode,i'm still surprised ,yes shocked

less than 40% wanted to attend

Football is inherently unfair though, isn't it? Its not a level playing ground and never has been.

There's nothing really fair about a league where some clubs have squads worth £100m and some worth £800m. Is it fair that the transfer window means you can play a much stronger version of a club in February than your rival played in December? Is it fair that some clubs had 3 weeks between seasons and some had 8 weeks? Is it fair that you can have 2 or 3 days less rest than your opponent from week to week? Or that in April one title contender might have a derby sandwiched between 2 Champions League games while another has a guaranteed 3 points vs a relegation candidate?

It is unfair to have some clubs with fans and others without, but it's just one more on the pile of a pretty unfair sport.

The postponed Aston Villa game might get played in front of fans which is unfair on Villa. United will have to play the other derby at a full Etihad. We'll play Spurs in front of fans while they had none. So I think from a City point of view we are doing reasonably well.

None of the above has happened and you cannot possibly know if it will

people should note that if your successful in this ballot, if it goes ahead you will then be excluded from future game ballots until everyone who wants to attend has had the chance so select your games carefully

There will be.They'll get their own ballot with an allocation of tickets in proportion to the tickets that would be available to them in a full stadium.
Looks like non-uk supporters are excluded from the ballot;

"If the ballot is drawn, only supporters whose address is registered in an area under the UK Government’s Tier 1 or Tier 2 restrictions will be eligible to purchase a ticket for the Newcastle United match."

Likelihood is with a post xmas spike if we do manage to get to Tier 2 this could be the only game with fans until spring.

I'm not even thinking of going but if you are I'd suggest get in the ballot, could be the only chance of a game until we move the clocks.

We specifically asked that plastic cunts, particularly Irish ones, be excluded. Nice to know City listened for once. ;-)

Is it? I believe they only have 5k who have L postcodes. I'd say it's quite likely that 2/3rds to 3/4ths wouldn't consider going under the current circumstances.

L postcodes had little to do with it, Chorley and West Lancashire has some L postcodes but wouldn't bet eligible, but lots of Preston, Chester and Warrington postcodes would be.

The fans were waiting for the bigger games coming up Tottenham, Everton and City, and not entering the ballot for other games vastly increases their chances to a point were they could be 100% guaranteed for a game they wanted.

That is out of order. It’s ok for you lot in Manchester surrounded by blues. Over here we are completely outnumbered. The red rats have infested all parts of this island. Urgent vermin control needed.

I second the Ban:)
