There's your problem; you associate the vote with toxic personalities, not unrelated people's own opinions, and you appear incapable of separating the two. Benn and Farage, two opposing personalities, both shared the opinion that the EU is undemocratic.

Yep. Though tbh i've always felt that 99.9999% of us were just not qualified or educated enough to vote on an issue as complicated as this at all. I think Cameron's government were genuinely criminal putting this to the public. I consider myself an intelligent person, but of course I'm not an expert on the wide reaching economic and geopolitical effects that leaving the EU would have. Hardly any of us are! Especially back then! Anyone says otherwise is either genuinely in the 0.0001% (if it's even that) or just a fucking liar.

Of course it was too complicated an issue to be sold to the public intelligently, so it was just boiled down to 'do u want money to go to foriners or to british hospitals', a big fat lie of course, and dressed up in not-even-subtle racist undertones. For better or for worse, these sort of decisions should always be left to the elected government, or at least those with actual understanding of potential effects. It's like us voting on the next step a surgeon should take ffs. Still angry thinking about it.

Then you missed out. Brexit itself was the result of a decades long campaign by the print media, of hostility to a Europe and anti-immigration sentiment. Tories themselves have long been hostile to Europe and Europeans at a grass roots level.

There are many ways to effect change. Sitting there passively isn’t one of them.

Isn’t it just! Personally, as a soft Leave voter I’ve long since gotten fed up of the whole charade so I’m not sure why anyone would be admiring the situation we’re in at the moment with No Deal looking increasingly likely, but I’m guessing that and other comments aren’t really related to that and are obviously to do with their country having to delay their vaccination plans while the UK has already started. To be fair, that’s bound to grate the gears of many of our European friends.

It's actually only really the fault of about 1.2m of the public. I'm among the 16m leave voters who are not to blame as our votes were cancelled out by remain ones.

Mines better than that the wife tossed a coin and said heads she votes remain and tails she votes leave and I would vote the opposite.Heads came up so I’m in the clear as it was fate and the wife’s terrible coin tossing skills.

A remainer made me vote leave, she should own it.
