Feelings towards the current side

Looking at KdB's body language, you can see he's becoming more and more frustrated with some of his teammates for their poor finishing of the good chances he creates. Accepted, he's not at his very best but I wonder if that is a Catch22 situation? He would easily have the PL's top stat's if even half his chances were converted. I wonder if it ever crosses his mind, what playing with Kane, or Vardy, Mbappe, Haarland etc. would be like?
As our main go to man, i wonder if he ever airs his concerns with Pep?
I can image Pep being too stubborn to listen even if he does.

I am worried Foden is going to want out.

If i was him,i would have had enough of watching players like Mahrez,Sterling, get the nod over him.

Dortmund will be sniffing around next.

Not sure wtf is going on with Pep regards Foden.

I read a post on the match thread.A poster said we might not see Foden late on in the Derby, because he might score, and that would reflect bad on Pep,then he would have to play him more.

Hate to say this, but it did get me thinking.

Pep has one hell of an Ego to feed,Foden does himself no favors every time he comes on and scores.
Don't pay any attention to the fake media narrative around Foden. He is doing fine as one of the most successful young players in world football with plenty more to come. Our enemies in the media will continue to do their best to destablise us. Foden is a City fanatic who will continue to develop and win trophies at City.

Pretty sure that was a testimonial.
Colin Bell always showed great respect to his opponents. I don't think Roy Keane is much of a model to follow and that's why he has always failed in coaching/management. I don't hark back to the clogging days of the 60s and 70s. I saw them all and I thought Ron Harris and Norman Hunter were animals who ruined a lot of careers. The media has subsequently made them out to be some sort of pantomime villains but the Maine Road crowd saw them differently at the time. A lot of talented players were kicked off the field and it didn't make for much of a spectacle. Keane is just a dinosaur.

My feelings toward the current squad? They all play for Manchester City and therefore I will support them 100%.
Doesn’t mean I can’t see that there are holes in some roles. Doesn’t mean I can’t see that some of them are not playing to their full potential. HOWEVER they are human beings and like the rest of us they are going through hard times.
Before you jump on me with they are earning thousands and are not being made redundant etc. No they aren’t but then I am not being made redundant either but it doesn’t mean that I am not worrying about my family and friends. Most of these players are worrying about their family and friends and remember a lot of them are thousands of miles from their families.
So if they are not doing their job to the best of their ability please give them some slack. :-)

I know it’s frustrating I’m as frustrated as the rest of you but am just trying to look at it from a different angle. Sorry folks. :-) :-(

Stay safe, take care everyone. :-)

Hmm what about other teams that ARE playing well, do they not have families and friends?

Why duplicate what someone else has said? That’s what the like button is for lol.

Nasri scored to make it 2-1 in the League Cup final vs Sunderland, and banged in the opening goal of the game in our win against West Ham that secured us the title on the final day of the 13/14 season.

For those 2 moments alone, in times of great need, he showed more than Mahrez ever has for us. In terms of mentality and ability. To compare the 2 is just stupid.
Also got big goals In Rome and the title run-in of 2014. Nasri did his bit for City.

im feeling unusually positive about the team at the moment. dont worry, i can see we have a problem scoring and rank form problems with many players, and we cant seem to attack with much fluidity BUT, despite all that, arent we just missing our very own Calvert-Lewin, Son, Vardy or Kane? i.e. with a fit and firing Aguero i think we'd look like a very solid winning machine.

i strongly think we'll be in for Haaland at some point.

edit: and i see Dortmund have just sacked their manager.....

Most games I have seen have been turgid with a few freak performance like Villa v Liverpool etc. Very few teams have been consistent. You could make an argument for Spurs but they have been dreadful to watch with their park-the-bus strategy. Leeds v City was one of the best games for intensity.
I still maintain this is a freak season and the title is up for grabs. See what happens over Christmas. That will make or break us. I accept that City are not playing at their peak but I don't think the situation is as black as some are saying. I think Covid is affecting everyone's morale...and that includes us fans. This is a season which will have the biggest asterix of all attached to it.

No one gives a fuck other than Foden. We will see when the grounds reopen, big chance for the modern day players to win the fans back over. I'm falling out of love with certain aspects of the game, despite still wanting to get back at the first opportunity. Dread to think what the older fans feel like, who remember when players actually played for the shirt.
Don't think I have felt affinity with any players since the Keegan promotion side. Probably felt most affinity with the players of the Royle team, felt Andy Morrison and Sean Goater would sweat blood for us. Even our best players now seen like mercenaries whose only interest is their millionaire life styles. Started watching City in the era of Bell, Lee and Summerbee, players then well paid compared to working men but it was a short career and their was a feeling that we were all in it together. These days with the sanitised match day experience the players seem a different breed totally alienated from the match day fan, or maybe I'm just an old cynic.

I agreed with Keane, all this smiling, having a laugh and a joke after game, it pisses me right off. No passion! We are not, no way the team we were, performances show that. Again though we are in a bit of a transition, we've lost some top players, ones who will be hard to replace not only on but off the pitch. Think patience is required. Saying that it's a game we should have won, they a very mediocre or should I say shite!

We’re now much harder to beat and more robust than previously.

Im hoping that like Mancini’s side, when in 10/11 we got stick for being defensive, now we’ve sorted our defending out, our attack will improve and we’ll see a well oiled machine.

I'm definitely loving the defensive improvement, there was a point in the not too distant past where it seemed every time the opposition got over the half way line (usually due to a mistake from us) they would score. Looks like that has been addressed and other than the odd Walker walkabout we look great as a defensive unit.

The issues for me are going forward from that. I can understand the rationale behind selections like Mahrez (recent hat trick) and an underperforming Sterling (has come up trumps plenty in the past) but I cant help but think any one of Bernardo, Foden or Torres would have offered so much more yesterday.

Make some fucking changes up front and keep it solid at the back, I still feel we will come good and that we will be right in the mix come the business end, but turgid shite like that against truly turgidly shite opposition is just hard to watch.

Actually Keane is just a **** and a coward - just ask Alf .

He also dangled a leg out of the wall like a coward and cost us a derby, now that of all things I would have thought you would have found unforgivable.

I'm certainly no fan of Keane. But ye, he maybe ruthless, he maybe a dinosaur. A handshake is enough that's respect but as I said earlier I don't wanna see arms round each other, good game, well played, see you in the bar later. Its bollocks! That's the point I'm trying to put across.

Here’s another one for you as well;

Who scored the winner at home vs Chelsea in the title run in in 2012? Nasri.

Excellent, kind of proves the point that he wasted the talent he had then, he only gave when it suited him and that wasn't very often.

No point arguing about Mahrez as you're wasting your time, I don't rate him either so it is pointless, Nasri was awful most of the time as well hence my comparison of the two.
