No, what’s bollocks Rasc, is the LW approach of just allowing anyone to enter the country via any means and getting upset when the government does its job of actually patrolling the border.

Every man and his dog knows these people are doing it for economic reasons.

So yeah, let’s just fuck the border then, anyone can come in.

And you wonder why your politics gets rejected by the working class?
My crop failed because of your carbon emissions. I was starving.

So you admit you came here for economic reasons?

20 years on: yes and I'm happy to give you a job in my business.

More people means more public spending needed which doesn’t happen, so Labour in opposition go on about social justice. In power they would need to create more public sector jobs which they love.
The liberal left like free movement, free movement is not immigration.

The Socialist left would create more public sector jobs because we need more nurses, police, doctors, armed forces, firemen, ambulance drivers, paramedics, you know all the jobs that help a society prosper.
The Tories pretend to try and get a grip on it but they love it too. Good for business and gdp in headline figures. Very fond of an employers market the Tories.
Yes it is brilliant for employers, so is free movement. It is a neo liberal haven, which is why we nee to leave the EU to stop free movement, control immigration and still honour our obligations on asylum.
Both parties love lots of immigration which is ironic as if they had just addressed it a bit we wouldn’t be having Brexit.
Yes they did, which is why Labour veering to the right will never get elected.

It needs a Socialist party that will put the working class first.

More people means more taxes to pay for public spending.

Who do you think is going to pay for your pension? The birthrate is falling rapidly. The damage from Brexit will be yet another reason not to bring children into the world (and I am serious).

except we are constantly told by Brexiteers that Brexit was nothing to do with immigration.
Lie, you are constantly told that some brexiteers maybe concerned about immigration some may not, some have had other reasons. However as a swing of a piddling 2% was all that was required if it was a minor concern it would still have been ample. Doh!

I think you answered your own question :)
"Surely we're not being lied to by our own prime minister" isn't a question. It's a rhetorical device (there's probably a technical Greek word for it).

"Surely we are being lied to by our own prime minister" is usually just a statement of fact.

Stop it. Spellchecker on mobiles doesn't do grammar very well. It's a pain having to check its working. (Subtle use there of a phrase that could have been "it's working".)
I only bother with spelling corrections for smart arses. So no need to worry.

How about having a trade deal with Europe without being involved in a political alliance. That was the original aim of the Common Market if I am not mistaken.

In simple terms to move as close as possible on trade by abolishing trade barriers and borders, removing regulatory differences and harmonising an economic market across 27 countries you need a common rule book, a body to administer it and a judiciary to enforce it, all of which cuts across national competences and requires political alliance to accomplish it. The deeper you merge on trade, the deeper the political alliance.

It’s like the statement some Remainers come out with: “Not all Brexit voters are racist but all racists voted for Brexit” which is complete and utter bollocks because I know of at least one racist who voted Remain. In fact, I’ve made the point previously that a lot of the racists in this country who did vote Leave actually voted for the wrong option. Why? Because most EU immigrants are white and a cap will be put on that following Brexit but immigration from predominantly non-white countries may well increase. The racists would’ve done well to think that one through and the more extreme Remainers on this thread would do well to realise that Remain is the true option for said racists, and they should own it ;)
