The brexit vote wasnt all about the economy. Having power and control of your own laws or borders are very powerful arguements.

being poorer, less well paid or losing your job already happened to millions of people over the last ten years. Short of being homeless don’t see how it can be much worse for most

having control over our own affairs - most people will be delighted
We were already sovereign and had control over our laws and borders. They were not powerful arguments, they were lies designed to con the hard of thinking into voting for an ultra neo-liberal utopia.

The previous ten years, actually probably closer to 40 years was just a taster of the neo-liberal utopia that the Tory ERG, the RW libertarians and the Classical Liberals want to impose on this country. The EU is a neo liberal club that operates in such a way the main beneficiaries are the Corporate behemoths and the free market exploiters, the people leading the leave campaign do not want to temper the corporate behemoths and free market ,they want to go even further than the EU would ever dream of doing.

The working class though continue to vote against their own interests, my hope is that once all this over, the UK walks away with no deal and the working class wake up to reality and realise that by being free of the strictures of the EU the nation can vote against the Neo Liberal utopia and instead enact a true Socialist state that will put the people first, regulate the markets and build a better fairer more equal country for everyone.

If the nation is to benefit from leaving the EU it has to go down a totally different path and embrace Socialism. If not the hardships of the last 40 years will pale into significance in regards to what is coming.

FT with border funding scoop... @Cheadle_hulmeBlue from ‘Noddy Land News’ states this is a very positive Brexit development and welcomes the news.

The UK rejects Dover funding bid to double French passport booths via FT - long queues ahead...as other ports also don’t get money they asked for to build #brexit border.

Today we find out what everyone got - but it turns out that 54 ports asked for more than £450m - so a LOT have been bitterly disappointed. Not just Dover...they are furious the government is not willing to fully fund the very borders they mandated.’
Finally i'll be able to get some proper hash again.

well considering taking back control was one of the main points talked about during the vote and every election we’ve had after - I’d assume that is one of the main reasons people voted

we also had an election where leaving the single market and customs union was one of the main policies

which was all bollocks - most of what we didn't control was because of choices our Govt made. I'm sorry to say it but some gullible people were duped into thinking the things we chose not to do we weren't doing because the EU forbade us. The rest was just fantasy scaremongering about the entire population of Turkey moving here or an impending European Army ( oddly there was never any suggestion of an EU Navy or Airforce - the liars probably thought it best not to over egg the pudding ) and it was home and hosed - showtime for the cheats and embezzlers.

"I promised an oven ready solution. But why bother to Cook when you can get a take away? The EU stated did somebody just eat and we agreed to a deliveroo of a deal...The UK will be able to Uber Eat this magnificent deal which is a win for us and our great European friends. To celebrate this new era of international cooperation I'm going to eat out the home secretary, I mean eat with..."

Putting the bins out just now when Steve from over the road who works at NISSAN Washington steered me to this news - he says the news hit the plant @ lunchtime today and left them all pretty subdued

Germany to undermine Brussels

starting vaccine rollout on the 27th

so wait - we had to leave because it was a bloc that issued rules that we all had to stick to as evidenced by the fact that Germany has taken a unilateral decision to start vaccination?

Germany run the Eu.
It shows the order has gone out from Berlin to Brussels to expedite the rollout of the vaccine on the 21st December.

Ha - I was going to add don't put that as the excuse but I wondered who would come in with the standard BS answer - sometimes it Berlin, sometimes its Paris who "runs the EU" - depends on your bogeyman at the time but the response is so predictable and overlooks the main thrust of my argument. How are they allowed to do it? The EU rules its members doesn't it? Oh and when you get to an imaginary line in La Manche the fish the other side are French and don't swim across said invented line and become British now we control our borders.
