No.

They take their lates chances. We don't. They are 8 points in-front of us. Which means at this point of the season we have to win 3 games, they have to lose 3 games, just for us to be 1point in-front of them, bar what the other PL teams do above us.

They are at Palace next. They play before us. If they win, they will be 11 points in-front of us before we play Southampton. It's already starting to get serious if we want to win the PL title.
We have a game in hand over them, granted we have to win it to make it count but if we do win it they are only then 5 points ahead in reality, that’s if we both win our games in the meantime of course.

Souness is widely regarded as one of the most credible and well respected pundits out there yet you have said that you disagree with him most of the time.
I think you'll find you're in the minority with your opinion of him not only on here but with fans of other clubs too.
Is it because he doesn't pander to the Dipper narrative like the countless clueless ex Dippers who are only employed because of their ties to the cult?
Although he's better than the likes of Warnock and ex- Everton fans Spit, McPointy and The Chester Bore, Murphy is basically another cultist sycophant who struggles to hide his bias.
A few years back my mates Dad who isn't a blue said that the football media is basically the Liverpool Mafia when the likes of Hansen and Lawrenson were on air and it's even worse now.
Woe betide anyone in the media who dares criticise the cult as they may be called a twat by the cult members.
It could be worse though as Colin Mafham will tell you.
I fully get that others have a different opinion, but it is just that opinion...something formed by our lives and experience.
I loved watching Souness in his pomp and accept he was a top class player. Did well in Scotland and rebuilt Rangers. Maybe me being dismissive...OK very dismissive...but that was Scotland!
I think he did nothing really when he came back to Liverpool. The whole Sun interview thing coloured my view of him as did his whole politics and love of Thatcher.
I appreciate that he has apologised for the Sun interview but I still have that knowledge of who I see him as.
As a pundit I see him in the same mould as Keane, or dare I say it Neil Warnock or Eamon Dunphy, there to be contentious, to "say it like it is".
Much as I hate to admit it, I actually like Neville as a pundit

Well another win.
As much as I dislike Mourinho in that game I actually started to have a new found respect for him. He appears to have transformed Spurs and got them all believing in his style of play. I thought the first half at least was the best I have seen us play this season, albeit Spurs sat back and let us look good. But they were always there ready to break.
Kane may be the really big name but I would take Son over Kane to Liverpool.

Got abit lucky with Spurs being Spurs and wasting their chances but very happy with the result. Also thought that VAR was used correctly tonight. The Spurs goal was close but wasn't obvious and was dealt with quickly, no messing about with drawing and re-drawing lines

One thing I am surprised at though is the whole tone of many of the messages on here tonight. Doom and gloom almost. This season above all others has been mad and will continue to be so. Games in hand and the league tight at the top adding pressure will make teams drop points.

For folks on here to point out about being 5 or 8 points behind and concerned amazes me...didn't you go 14 straight?

Yes last year was good from my POV, but from a neutrals the previous year, like this year with so many teams close, is going to be so much more interesting/exciting

They just beat the ladder leaders with some kid on debut and Fabinho playing at centre half.

It was never about Van Dijk, nor was it for us ever about our centre halves. They're defending from their middle and front, just like we've done at our best.

exactly we didn’t lose the league last year cos Laporte was injured like we all made out we lost it cos we were shite and they were miles better

Don't get giddy. I've seen nothing to suggest top 4 is guaranteed for the candle burners this season.

I hate them, probably more than United, but you've got to admire how they're performing without a ton of key players. Pricks.

Too many rolling over and handing them the title already. It's an absolutely bizarre year. And as well as they play some weeks, they've played utterly shite just as many times. This league is far from over yet.

The only certain i can see this year, is that we'll both be in the top 4. Aside from that, no idea.

As much as I hate them they are going to win it again this year. So top 4 is the best we can hope for. 3 place between us, Spurs, scum and Chelsea I recon. So we should do it quite comfortably, but really can’t see us toppling the scouse bastards, and yes I do feel dirty admitting it.

Liverpool have failed to win their last 5 away games.

And half the forum are droning on about how they "just find ways to win" and "no one will catch them now".

It's absolutely bizarre.

This years title is wide open. Too many variables to say for definite at this stage, you only have to see the results this season. One things for sure though, and that is unless we give our heads a wobble damn quick. We will be out of it before you know it. This season reminds me so much of MP reign, when we had so many opportunities to take advantage of other teams poor results, and we never took a single one.
