You cant compare bristol to manchester

I was talking about Trafford.

anyway it’s my birthday so just back from a taxi to wilmslow for a lovely birthday meal with my wife and son.

would love to have walked into alty and it would have been safer but we had to travel by taxi to an area with higher rates to celebrate my birthday .

but hey we did.

Worse, it's not "this" government, it's the whole system of government/parliament, it was fit for purpose in the 1860's not even the 1960's, and it certainly isn't fit to run a crisis like this, whatever party was in charge.

Everything in this crisis has been reactive, not proactive, and they should have passed emergency laws at the start to prevent them having to vote for every damned decision.
Couldn't agree more. Our government structure is unfit for the 21st Century digital age. A Baroness from the House of Lords was put in charge of track and trace. Totally absurd. The press briefings have been like a scene from Blackadder with General Melchett at the helm. It would be funny if it wasn't so bloody tragic. People have died because of this disgraceful failure. The NHS staff are lions led by donkeys.

bluematt23 - knows more than Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance and our government.

Not really those clowns have one agenda stop Covid deaths So that’s what they are doing.thats all they care about and are responsible for

if I was put in charge of stopping road deaths I would ban cars and ban using roads for everyone.

see it’s easy this. road deaths drop to zero.

I would like to think im quite an optimistic person by nature, but for some reason i dont think i have ever felt as downbeat as i do now about this virus. Should be happy but our whole house is down in the dumps and weve been very fortunate financially compared to some. Sad times.

It’s a tough time. I find getting out for a good walk works wonders.

Its nearly finished me off in October
The mental health impact on me has been horrific. Others I know have suffered badly.
Sadly I dont see next year being that different, certainly up until the summer.
Theres nothing to do and nowhere to go.

There is if you want to, you need to use your imagination a bit, you got through October, Christmas whilst not going to be great is still a good time of year.

Create yourself a project, and keep off social media, and probably everything covid related, you'll get through it if you keep looking for the positive, and then the summer will be good hopefully.

GM Scoreboard:

679 cases - down from 794. 36% of NW total 1848.

3 wks v 2 wks v last wk v TODAY:- 853 v 652 v 652 v 679 TODAY. As flat as a plateau.

Pop Score is cases across whole pandemic v 100,000 people - rises daily but lower the better.

Weekly Pop is same measure across last 7 days only. Can rise or fall depending on if more cases or less occur today v the same day last week,

Either way Up is bad, down is good.

Manchester 152 – down from 160. Total cases 33, 431. Weekly 956. Still falling which is good. Pop score up 28 to 6047. Weekly Pop down 2 to 173.

Oldham 76 - down from 88. Total cases 15, 804. Weekly 466. Pop score up 32 to 6665. Blackburn did better today but still rose by 40 to reach 7070 – highest Pop in the UK and only one in the 7000s – with Oldham now far behind happily. Weekly Pop up 9 to 196. More cases than last week is the reason.

Rochdale 72 - up from 70. Total cases 13, 778. Weekly 465. Pop score up 33 to 6195. Weekly Pop up 1 to 209.

Wigan 68 – down from 86. Total cases 17, 950. Weekly 563. Pop score up 21 to 5462. Weekly Pop up 2 to 172.

Bolton 68 down from 82. Total cases 16, 194. Weekly 452. Pop score up 24 to 5632. Weekly Pop stays at 157.

Stockport 57 – down from 74. A while since it matched Trafford Total cases 11, 335. Weekly 332. Pop score up 19 to 3863. Weekly Pop up 5 to 113.

Trafford 57 – down from 59. Total cases 9318. Weekly 318. Just 14 behind Stockport. Closest in ages on weekly cases. Pop score up 24 to 3926. 4000 club by Christmas, Loses another 5 on Stockport in overall Pop score race and now 63 behind. Look like expecting them to be No 1 at Christmas jinxed them. Weekly Pop up 13 to 134 due to low cases last week. Highest number in weeks, Further behind in this race after being top recently.

Tameside 45 – up from 40 Total cases 11, 006. Weekly 227. Lowest in GM. Pop score up 20 to 4859. Weekly Pop up 3 to 100. Now GM has NO sub 100 weekly pop boroughs again when they had two a week ago. But increases lead on Stockport to 13 here.

Salford 44 down from 72. Total cases 14, 271. Weekly 406. Pop score up 17 to 5514. Lowest rise in GM today. Long time since Salford did that. Weekly Pop down 8 to 157.

Bury 40 – down from 69. Total cases 10, 710. Weekly 356. Pop score up 20 to 5608, Weekly Pop down 10 to 187. Surprise winner today for best score in GM. Well done Bury.

More ridiculous is having Herefordshire in tier 1 (moved down), where you can do pretty much what you want, and either side of it the WM and S Wales in tier 3, an hour away by train, so you'll have train loads of people going there to get drunk over the next week.
Have you tried getting to Herefird on a train? It takes ages from Brum.
55 cases per 100k says low.
Not sure why Dorset isn't in tier 1 either with 45 cases per 100k either.
It's all a complete joke.
