Keir Starmer

Will be Rishi the smooth operator by then
Rishi is the most overhyped thing going.

Help out to eat out was a total and utter waste of tax payers money that essentially started the 2nd wave of the virus.

He just speaks smoother than Johnson, which isn’t hard, my arse does.

There’s no evidence of his ability outside throwing cash at virus response, although, the Tories signing off the furlough scheme was impressive.

Disagree on that the second wave was inevitable as across Europe, eat out to help out has probably saved a couple of major chains going under

You’re right, accelerated was probably a better word I could have used, as it was inevitable.

That said, I think people were spending the money anyway and it didn’t make that much difference in the grand scheme of things.

The jury is definitely out on Sunak and he’ll have to do incredibly well to A) get the top job and B) then better Starmer in 2024.

Can't see Boris remaining beyond Autumn and don't believe the next Tory leader will be a middle aged white male at the moment Rishi is the calander boy that could change as for Starmer I will reserve judgement until he takes a position so far the only one has been a 2 to 3 week fire break which didn't go well in Wales.

He is the calendar boy, I just don’t think he’s anywhere near experienced enough and hasn’t proven himself yet.

Let’s wait and see.

It is almost ironic that Starmer is purging the party of left wing Jews. There are currently 35 claims of antisemitic behaviour against Left wing Jews being investigated and 11 Left Wing Jewish members have been expelled or suspended as a result of these charges.

It sort of confirms really that the whole antisemitism scandal was about getting rid of the left wing of the party so the centrists could claim power.

A statement was issued on behalf of these left wing Jewish members that read.

"we are appalled by the large and growing numbers of Jewish members of the Labour party-including ourselves-who have recently been subjected to disciplinary proceedings related to alleged antisemitism. This fact alone - over and above the trumped up and politicised nature of the charges- makes a mockery of Keir Starmer's commitment to ensuring Labour is a safe space for Jews.

It is now abundantly clear that this commitment does not cover discrimination against Jewish Socialists. On the contrary , Starmer's abuse of our Jewish identity and his willingness to exploit antisemitism as a political football is shameful and harmful not only to freedom of expression but also to fight against real antisemitism ad racism of all forms both in and outside of the Labour Party."

The Labour right's tactic of hiding behind Jewish people to attack the left is cowardly and vile - and the abuse of Left Wing Jews exposes the real reason behind it.

==============================================================================

My feeling is this is going to run and run and it will bring down Starmer and maybe show he was complicit in this coup against the Left and its continued purge of the Left will destroy the party for good.

I think Starmer has done a brilliant job so far and is not buckling to the fringe of radicals that will never get the party elected in a million years.

Mainly because they act like Scousers... nothing is ever their fault, they pretend like a racism issue isn’t so and they think anyone to the right of their fringe view is actually right wing in nature.

Labour have a chance in 2024 and it’s because the nutters are being let go.

In the midst corruption and graft on a huge scale in plain sight form the government using a natioanl crisis to line their and their mates pockets, the silence or near-silence of Starmer and Labour and is striking and disturbing.

Bit don't worry he is doing interviews for church times on christian values

Tbf he's had to keep his head down this week - did you hear the phone in he did on Monday?

Tbh mate, I don't think he's gone anywhere near far enough.

I'd say up to 25% of Labour MPs are Corbyn in all but name and therefore toxic to the electorate.

Here's the latest list from the letter yesterday who want him reinstated:

Diane Abbott MP
Tahir Ali MP
Apsana Begum MP
Richard Burgon MP
Ian Byrne MP
Dan Carden MP
Mary Foy MP
Ian Lavery MP
Rebecca Long-Bailey MP
John McDonnell MP
Ian Mearns MP
Grahame Morris MP
Bell Ribeiro-Addy MP
Kate Osborne MP
Zarah Sultana MP
Jon Trickett MP
Claudia Webbe MP
Mick Whitley MP
Nadia Whittome MP
Beth Winter MP

You’re quite right but he’s got 4 long years to get total control over the party and extinguish the lunatics from the party.

If he did it all in one go, he’d start eating away at Labour seats and weaken their position in Parliament.

He’s clever, he’s playing the long game with both Tories and his opposition in the party.

The idiots don’t realise that his government would be the most left wing since the 70s, that he’s got much more chance than any of their favoured candidates and he’s still going to nationalise several industries.

Well either they do know that but because he’s not obsessed with Israel and Jews, they don’t like him.

They are Socialists, so you want a Labour party that isn't Socialist?

One of those already exists, it is called the Conservative Party.

Tony Benn's statement is coming true before our eyes.

That lot wouldn’t be missed.

Well either they do know that but because he’s not obsessed with Israel and Jews, they don’t like him.
This particular topic is one that's done a lot of damage to Labour, the left of
the party obsess about Palestine and virtually disregard the hundreds of other issues worldwide. Whenever Corbyn, or McDonnell were giving speeches, the crowd would be littered with Palestinian flags, something way down in the concerns of most folk. Never any outrage about the brutal, vicious theocracies
surrounding the place, nothing about Russia, Venezuela, or China, just this one
group of people.
