Alexandole Boris de Pfeffel Johnson

It’s certainly a shit sandwich but you have to give part of the blame to @Labour surely... any decent leader would have done it

No, I blame the incompetence and divisions in the Conservative party and membership over the past five years far more than anything else. They didn’t have to choose Johnson as leader regardless of what the opposition was doing (who I personally didn’t vote for either).

Doesn't the PM and family take the holiday at Chequers? It will doubtless come out early in the New Year who came and stayed with them......rules are only fr the small people.
Should he be even travelling there? Shouldn’t he be staying in Downing Street as people have been advised not to travel

He shouldn't if he leaves after tonight, no. I don't think he will either - he's clueless but can't possibly be that clueless, can he?
All the MPs will have cleared out of London too.

They can come back to London if he recalls Parliament - its travel to work - see? Rules are for the little people they can do what they want they make the rules - He will go to Chequers under the guise of work....

At what point will you cease to blame Labour for the current government’s failings?
I don’t blame Labour for the current governments actions.. I wouldn’t want to be making the decisions the government are that’s for sure, they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t but people who claim they are the shittest thing that’s ever happened to this country have to ask themselves who let it happen...

There it is!!! The " at least Corbyn didn't win" defence.

Just a surprise it wasn't from Worsleywanker.
See my last post... the government have some bloody difficult decisions to make and are largely on a hiding to nothing re Covid but you can’t ignore the elephant in the room... with an electable leader in opposition then I’ll ask you... would Johnson have been elected??

You’re doing it again...

The current government was put in an absolute **** of a situation. I don't envy them. They themselves have made it worse. Nobody trusts them, unfortunately too late.

Personally, I believe a Labour government would've handled it better. Even with Corbyn. They certainly wouldn't have given a shit load of money to their mates.

Corbyn was electable, people chose to believe he wasn't, and we are where we are.

He was pm before the election, remember. Conservative party members made him pm.

They chose to vote for and enable him. Like you say, they could have put anyone in given the opposition...

He was a PM that couldn't win a vote in Parliament because his work, his strategy and his arguments were so poor that he had to sack all those with experience. ability and honour from his party hence we are in the shit we are in.

Nah, accepting that culpability for the government’s failures lie with, um, the government should suffice.
The government have made mistakes for sure ... I’d have kept us all locked down for Xmas and I think he dropped a huge bollock lifting everybody’s hopes but we are where we are..

It didn’t take a genius to see what was coming today and I (for one) didn’t really expect Christmas to come and go without pain.. my missus was keen to see our sons because (despite being relatively well now) she has Lumphoma and we need to take every single chance we get to make memories now but despite this I don’t feel real anger for Bojo.. Id feel sorry for anybody who had to make these calls...
