Look at hundreds of other posts on this thread - they all fall into a similar category to mine.

Am I right in saying Tier 4 restrictions mean you have to work from home if you possibly can?

Partners company finish on Tuesday night until the new year and if the whole country ends up at Tier 4 by the new year I am guessing she will have to work from home. The logistics of getting all the staff set up to do so over an Xmas shut down will be a nightmare.

I think working from home wherever possible was something to be observed for tier 2, maybe even tier 1? I know our place has been enforcing since march, well before the tiers were introduced..

Tier 4 is supposed to be 'act like you have the virus', so effectively isolate yourself, from what I understand.

I think your household also have to self-isolate another 10 days from day 1 of your symptoms (today). Boris had to self-isolate again after contact with a positive case even though he's had it.

If you did test negative again with no holy 3 symptoms (fever, dry continuous cough or loss of taste/smell) then happy days.

I’m sure that the rules are from when the first person gets it. My son was in a similar boat in his house when two people caught it but the clock was from the first person. I may be wrong though.

The Scotland breakout was an international confrence I believe

I remember watching the press confrences and the scientists were insisting mass gatherings weren’t a risk

they were running the thing like it transmitted like Flu back then, rather than just a safety first approach

Looking back, our Cup final was extremely risky. 90,000 people on trains, underground’s, in pubs etc. Wonder how many who went to that caught it and passed it on. I was also at a gig a week later with 7000 people there.

Looking at that official paper on this new strain it estimates that 0.4% of those that get it may die. Are they saying it’s a lot more contagious and a lot less deadly or have they officially revised the death rate overall to 0.4% now?

I'm relieved to say my 13-year-old lad has made an impressive recovery during the last 48 hours.

He's a very fit kid but he has been so tired.

Temp down to 36.5 and he's polished off two double cheeseburgers and chips, followed by trifle and half the box of Cadbury's Heroes brought to the doorstep by neighbours for him and the missus.

So relieved and checked on him about five times during the night, been sleeping on the floor in my office, so been awake most of the night anyway.

Kids are amazing aren't they, so strong.

Wife also felt good enough to have a shower and eat three meals today, but she has lost her taste and smell.

Just wanted to share a positive story, pardon the pun!

Me and daughter still not showing any symptoms and temps of 36.1 each.

They first had symptoms Monday night, is there a time where the infection threat is lessened or I should start to exhibit any of my own?

Really good to hear the positive news, must be a relief. It's weird how close family members don't get the virus, there's only two of us at home but when I got it I was really quite unwell but Mrs H didn't appear to catch it. Kip in your bed tonight, a nightcap or two of your favourite tipple should be an absolute necessity.

I posted this news first a few hours back and it was not a political point even though I actually mentioned Brexit in the post. Because the media will certainly connect it regardless of any actual relevance.

Oddly nobody shouted me down then.

But as the posters have said and the reason I posted it when I did this is big news because it shows that the world is now isolating us and it could impact our imports over coming weeks.

Got very little to do with Brexit and all to do with the new virus strain and how serious this might prove. Also a lot to do with where we are all going to be over the next week or two struggling to get through this mess. And caused directly by our outbreak so of course it belongs in this thread imo.

It is 70% more contageous but they think no more deadly but more infections will lead to deaths and an overwhelmed nhs ,there is no upside to this situation

It is thought to be able to increase the R by 0.4 on top of the other strain

Tameside 49 – same as yesterday . But unlike then today it is good enough for top spot not sixth as cases are really bunching closer. Total cases 11, 134. Weekly 264. Still lowest in GM. Pop score up 22 to 4916. As this is still a high number for here weekly Pop up 11 to 117. This is now the lowest in GM (it was 87 just a week ago). But fight on with Stockport now for weekly pop score title as they are only 2 apart.
