I think working from home wherever possible was something to be observed for tier 2, maybe even tier 1? I know our place has been enforcing since march, well before the tiers were introduced..

Tier 4 is supposed to be 'act like you have the virus', so effectively isolate yourself, from what I understand.
I think WFH is guidance for all tiers. Not law though so many businesses have full offices for no real reason

Also from the above link

Health Secretary Matt Hancock has warned the country is facing an "enormous challenge", adding that the mutation was "out of control" and could see areas stuck in Tier 4 until the UK's most vulnerable have been vaccinated.

Wonder what would have happened if we did what the experts said to do and have the proper lockdown in sept , perhaps the new strain wouldnt have taken hold

The reply would be on the Brexit thread mate, lets leave it there.
The UK has recorded the biggest daily spike in coronavirus cases since the pandemic began, the latest data shows.
There were a further 35,928 positive cases recorded in the past 24 hours.

So you don’t believe that’s the reason? Biggest daily spike we’ve had, but nothing to do with that. I love a good conspiracy theory, but I’m afraid yours isn’t a good theory when looking at the above facts.

Whatever, not interested in Brexit theories etc, just go back to my original post which called out an out of topic post, nite its late.

Make your mind up mate. Your previous reply to me clearly states you think it’s to do with Brexit as that’s where your answer would be. Not sure if you’re confused yourself, but you’re certainly confusing me. (Some people might say it doesn’t take much to confuse me tho ;))

Encouraging but I'll wait until we get that confirmed by British scientists who are investigating this, or Pfizer, Oxford etc. Politicians aren't the best source.

Marvin, if, and talking a completely hypothetical IF vaccines need to be adjusted to combat new mutations/strains such as this, what's involved in that process in terms of creation, trials, approval etc and what sort of time are we talking?

As you say that mutations will be inevitable and eventually move away from the current vaccines being produced, is this a fairly simple process which can be done quickly and efficiently or a long process with potential for problems?

Realise this may be a case of asking how long is a piece of string, just interested to know what we might be dealing with.

You were on this thread weeks ago - when infections were high in the north and low in the south - implying that it was because us in the north were not following the rules while those in the south were. Several posters pulled you up on it. That was prior to your other post some time later suggesting that anyone visiting their family at Christmas deserves to die from the virus.
