Yeah, true. Can’t see a similar increase over the next 12 months as it never seems to work like that. Will be happy with a more modest 20%-30%
A very nice selection tho, how long have you held it ?

edit, I’ve had the following since April,

Fidelity Funds - Global Technology Fund W-Acc-GBP

delivered 56%

Not sure whether it’s been mentioned on here but the Baillie Gifford American fund is worth a look and has been a cracking investment for me up to now. It’s up over 130% in the past 12 months!
Are we not likely to see a more sober US stock exchange with Biden who is less likely to see a surging Dow as the main indicator of a healthy economy?

I’d be interested to hear some good picks

medium term holds ideally with a decent dividend yield (4% plus)
or a good medium to long term tech stock.
Me too, I’ve been pretty hopeless at picking individual shares and have tended to switch to funds which has been more successful. I’ve got little exposure to the UK market but I guess a simple tracker fund might not be the worst idea

Started about 18 months ago. Been putting more in over time so my buying prices have differed wildly.

That’s a decent return on the one you have there. Will have a look at it

Yeah, that’s what many are saying. Not sure it’ll be a crash though, and even Covid hasn’t affected my investments which are mainly well up since immediately before the pandemic. Now I’ve said that, I’m fully expecting my SIPP to get a proper twatting over the coming months!

Earlier this year I put my isa's in the S&P 500 and have done very well (thanks to a bluemooner on here recommending to do that) . I'd be interested in any good funds that would target the renewable energy & storage as Bovril flags up.

How did you go about doing that? What platform do you use?

Doubled up on legal and general today.
Was looking at adding this to my portfolio shortly as its looking to show above 4% on the yield going forward -

are you in mainly for capital growth on this one or just mainly looking at income?

I think it has 30 percent growth in it in two years.

It's all about renewable energy and storage, get in early because it's going to explode. DYOR.
I’m new to all this, but I’ve been doing a bit of reading on solar energy and lithium batteries amongst others. To be honest, I couldn’t work out which we’re the best bets and the expert forecasts seemed to be at odds with each other with regards to individual companies.

So in the end, yesterday, I bought a few shares in an ETF covering the clean energy sector. INRG on the London Stock Exchange seemed to get favourable comments so that’s what I went for.

I don't like quoting Companies on here so I won't as I would hate anyone to lose their hard earned, at the moment Lithium Batteries are all the rage but do some research and you will find that for mass energy storage it is volatile and has a habit of catching fire. Now if you have time you may want to do a little research on Vanadium Re Flow Batteries (VRFB), China are building a huge VRFB system currently. The batteries although a little more expensive have a much longer life, many more cycles and get this, the electrolyte is recyclable. DYOR and Good luck.

I'm invested in them mate, they seem to be going only one way.

What do people think about SPACs?

Looks interesting. Cheers, I'll take a look.
