I don't like the sound of this new strain of the virus found in South Africa, only days after the introduction of Tier 4 over here.

I don't like Hancock but have to admit that I would hate to be in his position, he does seen genuine in his concern about these mutations.

I would have felt a little better if they had put the whole country in Tier 4, the fact that they are already adding areas to the list produced just days ago proves how bad this is.
Got to be honest, think that’s the first time I’ve seen Hancock and Genuine in the same sentence!!

You just don't understand his work, and rely on headlines designed as smears. You're clueless.
His statistical transmission model is a total bag of shit. BTW I am a statistician who specialised in population statistics for the ONS in Hampshire for 10 years.
No one in my profession, outside Imperial, has a good word to say about his statistical model. It stinks.
Why anyone is listening to anything he has to say as a result is beyond me.

Oh FFS the South African strain has reached the UK. Why the fuck we didn't cancel air travel to the UK in February ans since is beyond me.

Why you can trust Sky News
The R number in the UK is estimated to have gone up to between 1.1 and 1.3, according to the SAGE group of government advisers.
The growth rate range of COVID-19 is estimated to be between +1% to +6%.

The figure is highest in the East of England and in London, with an R value of 1.2 to 1.5. This means that every 10 people infected will infect between 12 and 15 further people.
The R value in England as a whole is 1.1-1.4, and is lowest in the North East and Yorkshire, and in the North West (0.9-11).
Last week, the UK figure was put at between 1.1 and 1.2 with a growth rate of between 1% and 4%

Suggests everyone takes a step back and calm down , viruses always mutate, the media thrive on panicking people, we’ve got numerous vaccines on the way , everyone knew that winter was going to be grim . Stay safe , respect the restrictions brought in and come spring things will be much much better.

Well, that's hard to argue with. We might have sympathy for the vulnerable people they pass it on to though.
There’ll probably be- ignore this, dunno what happened.

Yup, the numbers were bad enough when this first started in spring with people being able to be outside more often. Winter was always going to be bad unfortunately unless we’re all confined to our homes for several months.
