Maybe more will with the new more contagious variant. It's rife in London which is now in lockdown and London teams are travelling and mixing their sweat and spit all over the country. Sounds risky to me.

I can’t believe there hasn’t been a drive to stop spitting in football over the last six months. The amount of diving and injury feigning where they’re all rubbing their heads on the floor with their mouths wide open with fake agony in the spit of other people, is mental during a pandemic.

You ever been to the gym and seen people on the treadmills spitting on the floor? No me neither. It’s not needed, it’s just some stupid culture that’s conditioned into footballers from being kids.

When someone spits near me in the street (even in non-pandemic times) I call them a filthy ****.

Actually wouldn’t be surprised at that,don’t the media go on about us having the biggest squad in the league so will be calls to just get on with it ..

Yes they do however we have the same size squad as the other clubs

City offered facilities for the NHS at the Etihad campus at the start of the pandemic and (as far as I am aware) have continued this since. I think it would be reasonable for City staff to be prioritised for vaccines in acknowledgement of this. Not having to regularly test staff would save resources. City's medical team could be trained to administer the vaccine in City's own medical facilities so the impact on the NHS would be minimal.

It's more about stock levels of the vaccine, it MUST go to those that need first.

Just shows the safety of football is not that great. How can they only get results so close to a game ?

Players involved would be close with other players & family & potentially even at Everton already.

Not the best pr for the club or league this but I will take a 2 week break for our players right now.

There surely is a track and trace system in place and therefore this story is only beginning with our boys. Others will be infected

Didn't know about that, expect we will learn a lot in the next few years, a shocking disease that's not fully understood yet.

The season should be declared null and void! Totally and utterly wiped out. Players, staff and their families deserve to be as safe as possible. The only way is to say we had a go it hasn’t worked their lives are too important.

Gather we'll have to shut for 10 - 14 days now meaning Everton, Chelsea and possibly the rags will all be called off.

The rags game won’t matter much due to the ridiculous 3 month gap until the next round (final). But the postponement of premier league games combined with the euros is going to create the mother of all fixture congestions.
