What more is there left to close in T4 areas except education? For all those demanding ‘even tighter restrictions’ what exactly is there left to tighten other than to apply it to the whole country?
That’s what I keep wondering. For those shouting ‘lockdown now’ what do they mean?

Need a four week minimum national lockdown as we did in March / April. Obvious exceptions such as food stores etc staying open but pretty much everything else closed and no loopholes. Work from home, schools closed send, universities online. Give to country a chance to drive down infections and to roll out vaccine in huge numbers.

This work from home message is being ignored by a lot of companies though. I work on a business park (all offices) and some of the car parks are full. The M6 which was very quiet during the March/April lockdown is busy again.

I think the message has been flimsy. It worked in lockdown one but has been too wishy washy since then.

In tier 4 I still have to work on a production site with 3k other people and it is certainly not essential as I would guess at the very least 95% of people posting on this site couldn't afford the product

That and a more meaningful punishment for breaking the curfew.

A fine AND having to help out for free in some capacity - cleaning the bins at a hospital, giving out food to the homeless. AFTER a clear Covid test - the most intrusive kind. Sure they can invent one that requires anal entry.

Word would soon get round.

A fine that a few mates can club together and pay if they get caught is no deterent.

Agree , the only thing they can shut apart from schools and universities are they small cafes etc doing takeaway, they have no chance of stopping people exercising by walking , running , cycling etc . Not sure what extra they can do in tier four.

But even in lockdown if you cant work from home you go in , building site etc still carried on

What curfew ?

We are locked down. Tier 3 unessential shops can close, but that's it. Most of the country is Tier 4.
The only thing that can be closed is schools!
The only other thing to do is ban people mot wearing masks entering anywhere and tazering fuckers who break the rules.
There isn't that much left to be gained from going from tier 4 to a 'tier 5'.

There is another option - targeted vaccination in the NHS regions most under pressure. The problem with vaccination is that it takes a fortnight to affect immunity so if we want to do this we have to it sooner rather than later.

Golf courses are open. So I suppose it’s the same thing.
It’s not in a range/ pitch and put, you need to go inside to pay and driving ranges are often under some form of cover.

At our course I can rock up and not be within 20 yards of someone outside, at all times.

It’s probably safer than a walk.

But I wouldn’t go to a driving range now.
