When he was elected the first thing I said to my wife was "Well, if we end up as a pile of ashes it's been nice knowing you". I sat there watching it last night remembering that conversation and feeling such relief that he lost that election.
We haven't seen the end of him, though. I really don't know what's next but his supporter base isn't going away. the USA has even more angry white men that the UK.

That's what I'm hoping: he's gone too far to ever get near the seat of power again. But he got elected, and even more frighteningly, he nearly got a second term. About 48% of the USA voters are morons. That hasn't gone away and when another Trump comes along, maybe with better suits and a bit more self-awareness, the world could have an even bigger problem.I remember thinking something similar. I'm just relieved it's practically over. I suspect that following yesterday's debacle and his estrangement from most of his cabinet the risk of him pressing the nuclear button has significantly reduced as I believe that any attempt would now trigger the 25th amendment.

He has no regard for human lifeWhat also goes unmentioned was the accidental shooting down of the Ukrainian airliner by Iranian forces expecting an imminent attack from the US, an attack that was expected because of the Soleimani assassination and the Iranian response. It wasn't Trump that was directly responsible but it sure as hell wouldn't have happened without Trump deliberately escalating tension in the region to distract from his impeachment. That was just collateral damage as far as Trump was concerned.
