Are the voices in your head?
Playing devils advocate Gloria is a ridiculously catchy song.

I don't think he can be impeached in time.He really needs to be impeached and removed.
It is the only decent, fairly comprehensive remedy, even if it would take a bit longer.
Whether, even after he incited an armed insurrection, there is political will to get it done remains to be seen.
I can’t remember you doing so, but I’ll hazard that you did!You fucking loon. (I can’t remember that time but please tell me I took the piss?)
He could be impeached and removed in time, it’s just whether there is the political will to do so. And I have already spoken about the pardon issue and posted legal/scholarly analyses of it (at length in the Trump thread and more briefly in the last few pages of this thread).I don't think he can be impeached in time.
The challenge with removal is that if he is removed then Pence (President Pence, imagine that,) would be able to pardon him.
Self pardon is dubious - would go to Supreme Court - but Pence pardon is watertight (from Federal charges) .
So might not be the best plan.
Not many days left.
I'm obliged.Practise.
He can’t be, and the votes wouldn’t be there anyway. Pence isn’t going to pardon him if he presides over and votes for removing him via the 25th. But it doesn’t matter — neither will happen. Pence and the cabinet will stonewall and delay any discussion of this despite pressure and I’m not even sure a vote would make it through the cabinet anyhow. Chao resigning is the biggest chickenshit move of all as now she abandons the need/responsibility of making a call. I don’t think his cabinet has the stones to try to boot him now after all this. Never been done this way (25th has been enacted temporarily before) and no one will want to be a party to that history and become a focus/lightning rod. They’ll pray they can hang on for 13 more days.I don't think he can be impeached in time.

Yeah, that should definitely be your top concern right now.
Also, did you think you were going to be offered professorships at the Kennedy School or board memberships at Fortune 500 companies?
You’ll be lucky to avoid becoming the **** cleaner at the local minimum security prison.
That was indeed the joke, Fog! ;-)I know you were making a joke Seb but — YES, that’s EXACTLY what they thought.
Count them, all none of them. What? *All* of the accomplishments?!?! Fucking deluded.
We were discussing impeachment and removal, rather than invoking the 25th, although I agree that the latter is very unlikely to happen. The former is removed from VP/cabinet participation and is still a long shot (but not based on time, as it could be done fairly quickly; it’s the dearth of collective political will that is the issue). He can’t be, and the votes wouldn’t be there anyway. Fucking A, doc.Unhinged insurrectionist dies whilst trying to overthrow democracy. Sorry Vic, but not one single flying fuck given here.
How much longer is he gonna keep living there? Surely he’ll get himself to Florida well before the 20th?He can’t be, and the votes wouldn’t be there anyway. Surely you mean St. Petersburg...How much longer is he gonna keep living there? Surely he’ll get himself to Florida well before the 20th?
Touché ;-)Surely you mean St. Petersburg...
To be fair, it could be either one, so you could be right! ;-)Touché ;-)
He’s American (though I wish he weren’t). The prosecuting attorney (barrister?) is American. I’m American.
Trump isn't legally allowed to live at Mar a Lago for more than 21 days per year due to an agreement he came to with the local authorities over the residential status of the facility (knowing Trump there was probably some sort of tax dodge involved). How much longer is he gonna keep living there? Surely he’ll get himself to Florida well before the 20th?
