I liked his 4am drunken Twitter rants. I always envisioned him fumbling for his phone as he awoke with a raging hangover, marinating beneath a piss-soaked Liverpool duvet in a spare bedroom festooned with images of Klopp, like an even more hellish version of Alan Partridge’s superfan/stalker Ged.
No wonder it took the Independent more than a week to edit a bare faced lie/glaring factual inaccuracy (take your pick) in the very first paragraph of his hilarious reaction to the CAS decision. It probably took that long to sober him up.

I bet like Ged he's got a tattoo of someone's head covering his front torso, probably Bingo or based on his hilarious tweets maybe Steve Nicol.

Haha. I can't get enough of Tony Evo's nonsense. A shining example of why the drugs don't aways work.
of all the things that have been levelled at city since the takeover, the claim that city have no history is the most bizarre. Even if you have absolutely no knowledge of the english game (which most of these cunts haven't), a quick google would soon show that city have actually been established a while and have quite a rich history

As they do very little in the line of investigatory journalism, it should be a very simple gig to be part of the sport, enjoy all the free sh1t that comes your way and provide a balanced view on things without playing to the gallery...........
Recently a number of the reporters and commentators of the past have been mentioned and they all seemed to regard it as their professional duty not to favour their own teams.
Now it seems to be compulsory to support teams openly and to deride their rivals.

United and Liverpool fans almost universally fail to understand the difference between ancient trophy wins and history.

The "no history" and the "empty seats" bollocks (City had fewer and a lower percentage of empty or unsold seats than the Rags and the Dippers pre lockdown) is why so many blues get wound up and challenge these tossers as they're factually inaccurate or in some cases outright lies.
It's either a deliberate ploy to wind fans up or it's a basic failure to fact check, either way it's piss poor "journalism"

It used to be stuff like "35 years", "you can't buy success", "You'll always be second best to Ushited" and branding all our players as "mercenaries"
As we've been the most successful club in the country for a decade, haven't broken the British transfer record for over 12 years and have a lower wage bill than their 2 darlings, they can't use these anymore so they're desperately scraping the barrel and in some cases questioning the loyalty of the fans.

The club clearly doesn't think it's worth giving these wankers the time of day by responding and these no marks seem to think that this gives them the green light to spread more lies.
Twats like Nob Harris have come out with statements implying as much.
Guess what Nob (we know you lurk on here), you're not worth the clubs effort but the fans will call you out when you spout your inaccurate bile.

I think part of the problem could be that so much of what is written about United/Liverpool is so fucking sycophantic that when it comes to City we can't help but feel our coverage is negative in comparison to that. Not saying that there isn't bias in the media against City, because there surely is from certain writers and certain outlets. But maybe there is something in the idea that we would like some cheerleading for a bit. Especially as we've been the most successful team of the last decade.

Then again, like someone said to me about life in general, you can be successful or you can be liked, but being both will be an uphill battle.
That dead right Billy, and you can also throw in the fact that until the money everybody liked City, so for many fans that makes things feel worse. And we went from being universally lauded for our loyal support to derided for a perceived lack of it. It's the perfect storm.

Pretty much it – when they say 'history' what they mean is – we haven't won as many trophies as them... they don't actually grasp what history actually means.
One of their cult tried spouting that on Wembley Way (in a west country accent) after the 2019 CS.
I pointed out a few home truths about who had won most of the major trophies first domestic and Europe double first and pointed out that our best 25 attendances of all time are higher than their best.
His mate started laughing at him and he was almost in tears so I cheered him up with my own rendition of the Slippy G song

Mercenaries?

Off the top of my head:

Veron, Di Maria, Sanchez, Pogbad, Ibrahimović...

No TMT you're bang wrong there, all the "superstars" you've named were boyhood Rags who had Bryan Riggs duvet covers and posters of "Scholsey" on their bedroom walls as a kid and would have played for nothing if they had to.

The entire modern noveau football fan’s equating of history to mean trophies began with Liverpool fans at the turn of the Millennium and was originally aimed at Chelsea following the Abramovich takeover.
Not only were these entitled melts mortified at seeing league titles suddenly being racked up by a club they traditionally considered beneath them while their own empire crumbled, they were further triggered by their home town hero Gerrard agreeing to move to Stamford Bridge, only to later change his mind after being pressured by organised crime figures in the city.
Thus their “You aint got no history” song was born and belted out whenever they played Chelsea.
It was all they had left.
Nonetheless, it was a message and position that would be amplified by compliant client journalists and the explosion of social media and online football outlets and forums, and thus adopted by other fading redshirt establishment fanbases as their complacency and decadence meant they could no longer compete on the field of play.
When City came along, it was the final straw. And not only with trophies.
For Gerrard to Chelsea, read Sterling, Tevez, Adebayor and Nasri to City. And unlike Chelsea, we got our men.
The supporters of LFC, united and Arsenal - the three clubs who were responsible for the very invention and concept of the plastic, glory hunting modern TV fan - suddenly decided that not only was the past another country, but it was better than the one they now found themselves living in.
And they all had their former players and media mouthpieces onside.
Like Les McQueen, the ‘Creme Brulee’ one hit wonder has been from The League of Gentlemen, they preferred living in a rose-tinted version of the past rather than accepting the grim reality of their present and the unpromising outlook of their future. To paraphrase Les, “Remember when my team was good? Football, its a shit business isn’t it?”....
Notwithstanding its factual inaccuracy in all aspects, as the recent FA Cup trophy documentary has demonstrated, ‘No history’ says more about them than about City. It is an entitled, embittered and terrified howl into the void. The death rattle of dinosaurs.

I just went looking for the pod and found one in May 2015 (right around Pellegrini being called a dead man walking) and it's brilliant.

Tony Evans - I'm angry with Man City... If they don't change the regime there, it's scandalous.
Marcotti - When you say the regime, do you mean the manager or Txiki and Ferran?
Tony Evans - The manager, end the catalan experiment, it's an absolute mess there....
[Rory Smith explains they are waiting for Pep]
Marcotti - I love this idea. I know Txiki has a record but...Where did Pep go after Barcelona? Munich! Where he doesn't speak the language No Catalans, no catalan food. He doesn't need his pals!
Tony Evans - And he tells anyone that'll listen The 3 clubs he said he wanted to manage were Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Man United!!
Marcotti - And Brescia!
Tony Evans - " [I know] Someone with good contacts with him, I asked them what City would have to do to get Guardiola in next year (2016) and he said 'Find 50 years of history, quick'
[Everyone laughs]
Tony Evans - "It's not going to happen."
158 days later, 10/10/15, Pep signed his contract.
Thing with most of these spouted shite and bias it seems to always comes back to show them up to what they are bitter bias cunts! They just can’t be impartial when they have a Love for another club especially scousers rags Arsenal spurs fans.
