The point is the hugely vulnerable are more likely to die when they catch it as they are so frail.
Yes you have better drug outcomes now but even so the effects are plain to anyone working in ICU.
When we get the next quarterly ICU clinicians report (some point soon - the last was October ) we should be able to identify this factor.

Yeah, the point I was trying to make is there's not much difference Germany to UK. Almost all the highly vulnerable are yet to be exposed in both countries

The US have zero restrictions (or version thereof) as they don't have a state run health system to maintain they literally don't give a monkeys about it. My boss is in Texas there is nothing in place and is one of worst hit states.
This is uninformed and wrong. There may not be national restrictions, that’s how the US works.
In NY where my son is it’s like here.

scroll this link and you see all bars and restaurants are shut.
All schools are shut.
All non essential businesses are shut.

Nicola announces raft of new stricter measures.

Click and collect on all but essential items will be banned.

And stricter rules on collection of those still allowed introduced as these are considered key areas where the virus is spreading.

Takeaways will also ONLY be allowed to use a hatch and serve people stood outside. Not allowed in the premises at all.

All alcohol drinking out doors will be banned too as you should only leave home for essential purposes not to socialise. She knows it will be unpopular but 'a necessary means to an end'.

Also introducing statutory measures to make working from home the rule where possible not an option companies allow or disallow at their choice.

I know people on here dislike her but we need strong leaders at times like this not waffle and dither.

You cannot say she declines to do the hard things if indeed necessary.

I’m a teacher at a secondary school in Chadderton. Certainly haven’t been offered the vaccine yet, and as far as I know, neither have any of my colleagues.
And quite right, in my opinion. I strongly believe that elderly and vulnerable people should have priority.
Hope you're not at North Chad or you may have encountered young Gaz

PM Questions confirmed they are going to 24 hour vaccine centres as soon as possible.

And plan to be doing 2 million a week by February.

I would happily go at 3.30am to get the jab if it meant I get vaccinated faster

ONS seem to think about 25% in the UK have had it. I think its lower than 10% in Germany. So assuming people get it pro rata, that's 15% more frail people pro rata to catch it. Anyway we'll see in the coming months.
