We travel a lot - more than most other countries in Europe per head.
We use truck transport for EU imports and exports far too much, rather than container transport
The border with Europe really isn't one except in name.
It is just too difficult to contain unless we use a quarantine app.
As politicians from ALL main UK political parties were not prepared to accept the human rights implications of preventing someone from Killing someone else by their stupidity, we are where we are.

Has anyone else had a letter from the imperial college London about anti body testing? Basically asking to register and get a free anti body test delivered ?

I had one back in the summer, register on the website and it turns up pretty quickly. They survey a 100,000 people to track where the virus has been.

That’s a global laughing stock, unfortunately.

Yes we should have gone earlier but that is a SAGE decision that the government chose not to overrule. The minutes of Sage meetings that were published clearly showed Cummings was pushing for the decision to be made for 2 weeks before it was made.
SAGE also didn't push for mandatory masks till the weight of evidence was clear because it wasn't in the pandemic plan either.
So they aren't perfect.
To be fair, the mask situation was so that joe public didn’t buy them all leaving the NHS with fuck all. As is always proved by bog roll storage etc.

my folks have their jabs this coming thursday. But not sure which of the vaccines are they being given.Oxford or Pfizer. One uses the MRNA and the other doesn't. Oxford is more like flu jab right? which to choose? do NHS patients have a choice or not?

Great news for them but they get no choice. Actually getting either is a privilege in the global circumstances.

I doubt they'll get a menu.
