Just had the displeasure of reading Jamie Jackson's musings on our game in the gonad. Spent most of it staying KdBs crosses were whipped in too fast, how a penalty was correctly not given etc. Last para he acknowledged it was an inspirational performance.

The poor lamb's hurting.

funny thing is Rags & Dippers won’t be reading a match report we won 4:0, do he may as well be honest to the few blues that read it.

In today's Daily Mail, you'll find the first mention of City's game with Palace, 3/4 down the sports page, just after the more prominent article about a tennis player's girlfriend washing dishes in the bathroom sink while quarantined in Melbourne.

It was the same almost immediately after the game. As we'd just played you'd think we'd be the headline wouldn't you? You'd be wrong.

I don't listen to talkshite but occasionally snippets of shows pop up in my feed. One today is talking about the two incredible seasons Liverpool have had. Last I remember they won two trophies in that time to our four so I'd say we had the better two seasons.

On Slysports football webpage not one mention of our match last night....must be hurting poor chaps! However articles on Drinkwater to Turkey, Darlow at Newcastle, P.Neville getting the Miami gig and the Welsh ladies manager leaving....and obviously 9+ articles on Rags and Dippers!

I'm happy that's the case. Let the media focus on the Rags and Dippers while we quietly win our games in hand and go top.

Don’t think entirely correct mate. I think united Liverpool was the bigger fixture in the 80’s, partly because we spent four seasons outside the First Division.
I agree that it started to change when we went down in 83 but the 60s and 70s and every decade before that the Manchester Derby was bigger. The 80s was a strange decade for football because it was on its last legs in terms of crowds etc and didn't revive till the PL started. There's no doubt United/Liverpool is huge worldwide but most of my Mancunian Rag friends still regard City as their most hated rival. It may well be a generational thing.

I think it started to shift a bit in the mid-70’s, with the ‘77 FA Cup Final being a bit of a catalyst, as it got pretty tasty before and after the game, but you’re right that ‘83 was the real turning point.

Agree that to most Mancunian rags we are their biggest rival, although many have some difficulty acknowledging it!

You mean things like " Scott McTominay is the first player in Premier League history to score 2 goal in 10 minutes in the first half, who's called Scott McTominay" ?
When Mourinho was at the Swamp he clearly forgot McTominays name in a press conference and referred to him as 'the kid'. No big deal, l forget names.
But some arse licking reporter reported it as '......"the kid"...' as he affectionately calls United's newest star'. Cringeworthy especially as the reporter will now have a different attitude to Mourinho.

Has MotD 2 & Mark Chapman from last night not been mentioned?

"We've got 3 matches tonight including the big one between Liverpool and United but we'll bring that to you later, which should tell you all you need to know..."

And after the Spurs v Sheffield game,

"We've still got the Liverpool v United game to come later, which will tell you all you need to know..."

And straight after ours,

"And finally we've got Liverpool versus United and we've made this hyped video so we're going to damn well show it..."

Credit where credit is due. Excellent stuff.

Even better with him being a Rag.But in fairness I don`t dislike the guy who at least does give some equal positives to both sides he`s discussing.Just doesn`t seem like a Rag. ;)

Any mention from the media, of the Spurs celebrations yesterday? It looked like there were group hugs after every goal, the worst perpetrators of the day by far. Haven't even bothered checking if anything was said but we know they'd be all over it if that was City.

He took the 'grief' he got at the FA Cup draw I think last season in our place well so as rags go he's not as high up in the twat league as most of them.

On another note that lovely Kelly Foran was smiling leading into the sports news this lunchtime while talking about us....she must be a blue, much too nice for anything else.
