Think they’re worried about people with symptoms keeping quiet and still going into work as they can’t afford not to.
I know plenty in the building trade who are still going to work feeling shit. One of them is now in hospital with blood clots on lungs and kidneys and now has pneumonia

Worst thing about that new £500 idea is that they're proposing that the Police have access to your health care details.

I assume this would mean your Summary Care Records. These started off being shared with only medical professionals but are now being shared out (or planned to like the Police) freely to dozens of government departments that have no proper requirement to see such private information.

There's an opt out on this NHS page. I'm going to give it a good read tomorrow and consider whether the benefits are worth the invasion of privacy.

Will all the families of those who caught it and died get this too?

If not the lawsuits will fly as it in effect becomes a bribe to stay in. And if you did that and lost a job over it in the past then why would you not expect to be paid retrospectively for doing the right thing then just because too many are doing the wrong thing now.

These ideas often look like they were cooked up on the back of an envelope and introduced before the consequences are properly considered.

Superficially it looks like a good idea. Until you stop and think about what ifs associated with it.

The overhaul has been prompted by Cabinet Office polling indicating that only 17% of people with symptoms are coming forward for testing, according to the policy paper. It said: “Wanting to avoid self-isolation is now the single biggest reported barrier to requesting a test.”

A separate survey carried out for the DHSC, discussed in the report, found that only one in four people reported compliance with self-isolation, with 15% going to work as normal.

Think they’re worried about people with symptoms keeping quiet and still going into work as they can’t afford not to.
A very legitimate worry, but we've thousands of empty hotel rooms, why not make it clear that if they get tested positive they'll actually be looked after ?

Why are you a teacher if you hate teaching children so much?
Why, as a deputy head, can you not show some leadership to those around you?

You should be celebrating the fact that you have children in school as you are providing an essential service as well as educating them beyond what they would have at home.

Tell me how many nurseries have had to isolate because of Covid?
How many 3-10 year olds have passed on the virus to your litany of people who you feel have been wronged?

From my experience the people passing Covid around in schools are the staff themselves who are unable/unwilling to follow the rules and not inform us when they have the symptoms.

Surely you should be praising and thanking the staff at your school for the commitment they are showing to the children they work with for providing an environment where 72 of the parents are confident to send their children to you, unlike before where they didn’t trust schools.

As a public servant isn’t your primary duty to serve the public? Thank goodness NHS staff aren’t as quick to hide as you are.
Stay at home. Protect lives.
I have asked the government to cone up with something simpler for you as I recognise this may be too complex.
