we nearly did today. You are right about the second dose my mistake but even so we will soon have a huge weapon against it!

Well, as much as I agree and think it was due to government policy that the country was left in tiers and Xmas was a bit loosey goosey.
I also think that most people thought the same. Most of those people however thought that but then chose to go out anyway because the goverment “didn’t tell them they couldn’t”.

We as a nation, only have ourselves to blame.
Never did I realise what sheep people were - everyone knew Xmas was going to cause issues in January but loads of people went out anyway (i didn’t). Those same people now want to blame policy for allowing them!!! Wtf!

goverment policy never told people not to put their hand in the fire - do we blame the government when you do it anyway and burn your hand (I don’t mean you personally and I’m just generalising)

Second doses will take some of those people out a bit, and need to add 20 days for vaccine to take effect, but yes, there is much hope if we can sustain this rate.

20% of the population will not be vaccinated - everyone under 16.

It’s crazy I goto care homes and not once been tested , I’m careful keep distance on line shopping etc

but some of the younger workers don’t care my boss won’t even furlong us if we test positive , but the nursery where my toddler goes staff once a week

this is not boris fault I personally think it’s shocking not been tested before going into a care home

You know what’s boring.

people going on about “covidiots”.
Anyone ignoring the rules aren’t going to start listening if people keep screeching louder and louder about “compliance”.

The government keep releasing new adverts, each time more and more scary. Bigger masks, people closer to death. Only people watching and taking notice are those at home. It’s preaching to the converted.

there are some twats out there. The rest of us don’t need to watch videos of people dying.

We need to see how effective the vaccine is out in the community. Reasonable to assume far fewer cases going to hospital is reasonable, and THE big thing. But it's still dangerous if we're passing it around despite the vaccine. It's a big public health worry in itself - we don't really know the long term effects, especially if people get several reinfections over a couple of years. Plus there's the risk of mutations.

That stands even if it's just the kids who are passing it around.

If not managed correctly, it could act like a catalyst.

I mean, imagine we get a mutation that reverts to something closer to SARS 1. A very deadly disease. Even if we hit the vaccination targets (doing two jabs!), a tonne of people will never get vaccinated, and others won't get immunity from it. We'd been in as bad a situation as we have now.

They'll have to move quite cautiously until they get results of how things are working on the ground.

Ventilators - mostly down but not all.

East down 3 to 365. London down 2 to 1217, Midland UP 21 to 671 (most ever), NE/Yorks UP 15 to 340, North West down 12 to 405, South East down 9 to 523 and South West down 6 to 210.
