Peter Walton..

For me the bottom line is that Mings and his obnoxious manager are professionals who are paid millions of pound a year by a premier league football club to play for and manage their club.

A minimum expectation would be for said professionals to be familiar with all of the rules associated with said sport such as the offside rule.

Rodri and Bernardo clearly knew the rules and Bernardo said as much himself.

If Mings and Smith are claiming they didn't know the rules, I would be asking serious questions about their competence if I was their employer especially when you consider how much they are paid and how much time they have on their hands to study said rules.

If they didn't know the rules of a sport that they are highly paid to make a living out of they've only got themselves to blame however I suspect that they did know the rules and are trying to cover up for the fact that Mings fucked up big time.

With regard to Walton, Camelgob and the rest of that shower of shit stealing a living from BT, the least said the better.
Smith and Mings should get a written warning for gross incompetence.

Absolutely. Smith is still bleating on Sky this morning despite his ignorance of the laws of the game displaying a catastrophic failure of his management
If I was Smith I would keep my big fat month shut as he's basically digging himself into an even bigger hole by confirming he doesn't know a basic law of a sport he is paid very well to manage in professionally.
If I was his employer, I would be asking him some serious questions as to why he didn't know the rules.

John Moss clearly knew the rules as did the linesman and the VAR officials and City players.

Numerous posters on here including myself knew this rule too and we don't make a lucrative living from the sport.

Walton, Camelgob, Humphreys and co basically showed the whole country what a bunch of biased, clueless no nothing wankers they really are with their inane ramblings and personally I found it hilarious.

The whole thing reminds me of dealing with a clueless bullshitteer at work who has fuucked up and instead of coming clean has tried to cover up their mistake and dug himself into a hole so big that they cannot get out of it.

My mate who is about to be a FIFA ref got back to me, he said the goal was perfectly fine. They have obviously got to him too, sad times.

Jon Moss was the referee who made the Lovren/Kane penalty decision. Bizarrely, that was something the 'experts' seemed to try and use as proof that he had previous for officiating that scenario incorrectly rather than proof that he knew what he was doing!

Our "experts" in the media like to write the narrative to suit their own agenda.

They like to ignore simple facts like the actual laws of the game as it inconveniently contradicts the message they like to convey to the clueless Rag and Dipper lemmings that hang on their every word.

I’ve been a big critic of Walton but he’s the only one sticking up for us here on BT.

Just now on BT Walton said he refereed us v Everton once and moyes and Mancini were arguing so 4th official called him over. Walton sent them both off. As they were walking down tunnel 4th official said to Walton I only called you over to have a word with them. He’s a fucking dick

Never seen such a massive u-turn by somebody on TV.
First he says offside and VAR has missed it.
Next minute saying correct decision as if he had been saying that all along.
I have a mate like that. He can turn sides in the same sentence when we argue!

So instead of this being a great bit of PR for VAR. By showing how no matter how obscure the rule, they got it right.
It is now a "loophole" to help us!

Something that will never happen, but would be a fantastic watch, would be to have some of these refs interviewed by a panel of football experts and made to justify some of their decisions. A huge digital tv in front of them playing endless loops of some of their most bizarre judgments, and being told to explain each one.
Just watching the body language alone would be sufficient to tell you all you need to know.
That's a good idea. I would even go a step further. You would think sky would have a library of controversial incidents over the years that when one happens on a particular matchday and a manager is fuming because of an offside goal that is given against his side that sky could pull out a similar incident from their archives and show the manager when interviewed how he benifitted from from an identical decision . Would have loved that line of interview on baconface and wenger

Trouble is mate, the majority of their audience are biased, clueless know nothing wankers so they probably don’t even realise.
