All of this could be fixed overnight by miking up the referees so we didn't have to employ someone to psychicly guess why he made a particular decision. But they won't do it because they have no interest in making the sport transparent or it would reveal all of the cheating.

Anthony Martial incident in Man Utd win shows simulation is creeping back into football despite VAR​

I FEAR simulation is creeping back into the game - even with VAR in operation.

Both referee Mike Dean and VAR official Graham Scott were deceived by Anthony Martial at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

Manchester United forward Martial was already going to ground before there was minimal contact from Southampton’s Jan Bednarek.

If the complete dickhead was honest and told the truth, that with penalties the VAR team just back the on field referee because he is one of them - then I could live with that.

However he goes into a long winded explanation of what the referee might or might not have seen and ends up sounding like a complete twat. Surely BT have executives who can see what a liability he is to their product as he just enforces the opinion we all have about the referees being not fit for purpose.

But that is not the case VAR have given loads of pens not blown for by the ref for the slightest of contact on Mane, Salah et al

The club should send a video of the penalty awarded against Southampton and then the one we didn't receive last night and ask exactly why a clear dive with no contact is a penalty whereas a clear kick to the foot isn't. Then once the explanation is given release the information so the fans can be made aware. There is no rational / logical explanation within the LOTG why one which wasn't was given and vice versa. You might as well throw in the clear push on Torres from the other week as well and ask why that wasn't given.
