Good to hear you are on the mend. That is the start. It may be a while before you are fully recovered. Don't rush things. Take it easy.

And remember this. You were fit. You could run half marathons. You will do so again. And because you were fit once then it will be easier for you to become fit again. You have the mental and physical reserves. You will be back.
Thanks for the kind words mate.
Thus forum has been utterly wonderful but I knew it would be.
It’s not a closed shop, echo chamber with either flame wars or patting each other on the back like FB.
It’s moderated (officially & self policed).

Be good to grab a drink with all the faces I’ve spoken to on this thresh over the past year.

For the record I’ve still got the ‘infinity cough’ but starting to feel a whole lot more human again.

Early nights & a good nights sleep each evening and I think I’ll start to feel a whole lot better by the end of the week.

Here’s a question:

I got some paracetamol supplies delivered earlier but there is only panadol left - these generally ok to take with chest infections?
Can’t see ibuprofen contained but do have caffeine (not good at night).

paracetamol has carried me through this

Well whatever you were doing you weren't being truthful, because it's not "500k a day", and that's all I care about, hopefully it can be, but it's not yet.

I don't like incorrect information being posted in this thread for good reason.

not being truthful! Seriously you are on one tonight. If getting to within 8830 of half a million and more testing centre opening day on day makes me a liar for saying we are upto half a million a day then good for you! Cheers for the apology. I find it a bit odd?

Thanks for the kind words mate.

Excellent news mate, really pleased to hear that. Long may the improvement continue.

Apologise for what, you stated "500k a day", when it's actually 300k a day.

not arguing you are wrong on this and frankly being a bit strange in my opinion. Apology was for assuming my comment was political.lets leave it.

Panadol is fine , it is the trade name for paracetamol, just the sames asyou have been taking , wean yourself off them when you dont have the aches and pains or temp

That's because it didn't really happen, as schools were still open, and it was only "advice" to stay at home, so most carried on as normal.
Not for job seekers it didn't.
It's been pretty horrendous.
However, we are now linking them up with companies who can look at transferrable skills and inform them of the new jobs in the labour market. Mostly health and social care or home based jobs in the same sector.
It's been pretty demoralising dealing with youngsters who have had their career plans scuppered, but needs must.

Sorry, I guess you'll apologise for posting incorrect numbers as well ?

no I won’t as what I have stated is correct we are clearly upto the ability to administer half a million a day (So sorry we were 8830 off!) and in fact more with the opening of 32 more centres today. That was clearly my point. You are the one being a bit strange not me. As I said leave it!

I think we will get to 700k a day one day during this week. Let’s see at the end of the week hey?

I think agree to disagree is best way forward.

I'm sure it's been horrible, and will continue to be for some time yet, I was talking with my wife earlier, she was arguing about the roads being too busy, but I know many employers have insisted people work at work, so they were bound to be busier, but for me they are still much quieter than a "normal" working day, and much quieter than in say October.

As for youngsters who had their career plans messed up, they have to stay positive, it may only be a years delay, and it may be in something they'd never thought of before, so there could be eventual benefits longer term.

We are in a fortunate position, both of us work part time these days, and I get my pension on top, so financially we're fine, and most of my work has been from home, my wife isn't so lucky as she works as a dental assistant, she got furlough until September, but now she's back in, and her boss has adjusted her schedule to her advantage, and on top of that, she's been lucky enough to be vaccinated with her first dose much earlier than if she hadn't been working, or did something else.

It's pointless going off averages as the roll out is ramping up week by week. Yesterday was Sunday so it as always going to be lower plus the weather was shite. It was around 450k on Friday and 490k on Saturday. We will definitely have 600k a day at some point this week and possibly even 700k with a bit of luck.

The bigger picture is the top four cohorts will be done before mid February, which is amazing.

In the table of 315 England boroughs using the 'latest' data - as in the 5 day old numbers allocated to the true date of the test - not the ones Gov UK report daily - which were actually carried out across several recent days - here are positions for the areas we watch in here.

Knowsley on Merseyside is still number one with a Weekly Pop of 923 - triple everywhere in GM.

Liverpool is at 25 with a Weekly Pop of 637 - though both have fallen in past few days sharply.

Dartford which was recently in top 3 is down to 40th and Medway at 89th both have also fallen a lot since this data\

Wirral is between then in 42nd place. But again is falling.

The 'highest' GM borough (in a table where you are winning the nearer the bottom you are) is Manchester in 146th with its Weekly Pop then 388 (as of last night it was 372 but will be lower still now - as recall this is data from a few days ago) .

All the other boroughs bar one are quite close after this - with Stockport at 209th and Trafford a 214th.

Andy Hinch's Cheshire East is at 236th in the list with a weekly pop of 295 - though it is a bit lower five days on.

Oldham is the best in GM at 268th with a Weekly Pop here of 262 (it was 264 last night as it has flattened a bit in recent days). An area hit very hard in the earlier wave. Blackpool too - also way up in the first wave - is now a round where Oldham is too. Showing how the hardest hit last time are often doing better this time round.

The best placed major city is Sheffield (one of the worst hit in the first wave) with a pop of 230 and way down in 284th.

Virtually all the final 30 are rural areas with very few people or cases.

Only two places in England have weekly Pop scores under 100 - which 3 GM boroughs did just before Christmas btw.

These are North Devon with a weekly pop of 72 and Torridge at 59 - which through the pandemic has nearly always been the least hit borough in England.

Torridge today had 2 cases and has only had 894 across the entire 10 months of the pandemic.

Yes, I will do v soon. They’ve actually helped with the cough. Obviously painful in the lungs/throat constantly coughing so it’s eliminated much of that.

Also I said hell would (ironically) freeze before I sat with a hot water bottle...I’m now seriously considering marrying mine. As warm & as full of unconditional love as a the greatest lovers.
