Rashford with another world class display of being useless. Welbeck was shite but he could at least move the ball from the half way line to about 20 yards out regularly.Rashford could not make the correct play if his life depended on it.
Just before he got hooked he had a shot that was one of two things, neither good if you are a utd fan. It was either pure petulance or a last gasp grab for glory. Either way he should have passed it to one of the others near the 18yd box, Fernandez and Cavani i think it was.
I feel a bit bad having a pop at him so much but its hard to ignore all his faults. He has one singular mindset, look to beat the offside trap and run on to smack it at the goal (on the odd occasion he is not demanding it to his static feet). His xg when running on goal in favourable positions must be pretty bad, all i think is "how will he fuck this one up". Head down and charge, utterly and hopelessly one dimensional.
He never, and i mean never moves into space where he can create a passing angle (vert static player). He never defends from the front. He never develops a play. He never chooses the right option. He always wants it to feet if he can which obviously kills momentum often. If he is not grabbing a goal he is close enough to be called useless.
There is a thread on redcafe asking oppo fans what they think, they all seem to rate him much higher than me, they must be seeing something i don't.
The bloke never shows any emotion at all, he looks like he is off to make a brew every time he smashes the ball anywhere but in the net walking back. Ok don't beat yourself up over it to much but show something, some frustration with yourself, anything, a grimmace, something!
He has close to 300 games for club and country now. The common excuse to is "he must be playing with an injury". Bullshit, i know a lazy player when i see one, stop literally making up excuses for him you silly red cretins, man up and accept your academy hero is not much use. Another excuse that "he will learn" has passed and if he is injured how do they explain this being his general level for most of his career?
So many people are wilfully ignorant about this fella to save their own fragile ego from admitting he is not as good as they first thought. I do hope they sign him for longer though, i enjoy seeing him cock up 90% of the attacking plays he is involved with for them.
