it's what happens when the institution ends up being run by the sycophants, suits and hangers on rather than the people that made it great in the first place. Cruyff would be turning in his grave if he saw shit like this. The reason Barca mean anything is because of what they instilled on the pitch, they never had the right to dictate things off it and it's now biting them.
 
Barca don't need him off the books as being suggested at all. Quite the opposite. Despite the obscene money he earns, he generates at least that if not more for the club just by being Messi, not to mention the prize money earned because he's dragged them through a season.

If he is to come here in the summer, I highly suspect his contract will put him on par with our top earners and be topped up with bonuses and a substantial image rights deal so as not to force us into paying united wages (and by that I mean 500k a week on squad players)
 
I think this is less relevant than it seems. It's highly likely Laporta will win the elections, so this just seems like a childish way of trying to sabotage a possible Laporta/Messi connection.

Over €360m a year on 4 players? How the fuck can that be a good, sound, financial footing?
UEFA should be all over this (and other clubs not far behind Barca) to stop this happening. Instead they throw all their eggs in the anti City & PSG basket & have received a slapped arse from the lawyers & CAS.
Fuck 'em, I hope the banks start calling in the debts of all these clubs who are living in debt without any consequences.

On the flip side Messi generates more income for Barca in shirt sales, sponsorships ect than his yearly wage so the club will think that's a good deal.

Where they have fucked up is the wages they are paying other players which are completely crackers

Griezmann £550,00 a week
Coutinho. £350,00 a week
Dembélé. £245,00 a week
De Jone. £300,00 a week
 
I feel We owe the dippers an apology. We always take the piss regarding the Countiho transfer to Barca and how it has financed a million of the dipper deals, but with Countiho on that sort of wage its fucking obvious that he has been sending it back to his boyhood heroes.
