He pays for himself effectively.Barca don't need him off the books as being suggested at all. Quite the opposite. Despite the obscene money he earns, he generates at least that if not more for the club just by being Messi, not to mention the prize money earned because he's dragged them through a season.
If he is to come here in the summer, I highly suspect his contract will put him on par with our top earners and be topped up with bonuses and a substantial image rights deal so as not to force us into paying united wages (and by that I mean 500k a week on squad players)
