It's a big misjudgement imo because it makes them look incompetent. They offered him that contract. They also manipulated him into staying. Now they're trying to cast him as greedy. Why offer it and force him to stay then?

This absolutely confirms he won't be staying there.
 
Noticeable that this ‘story’ comes out on the last day of the transfer window. I don’t doubt that Messi will know exactly who’s behind it and it will be the last straw for him, even though they can’t afford to keep him anymore. Would have given it more credibility if it had come out in the Catalan press but perhaps that’s part of the subterfuge. Politics eh?

You might need google translate but this thread basically details the connection between the interim board and the journalists who just happened to get their hands on Messi's contract, 4 days after the official accounts are released and everyone can see just how bankrupt they are.

If you can't be bothered, the headline is that Tusquets granted official status to a supporters club last week, allowing them to get tickets, vote in elections etc. It's incredibly valuable, difficult to get, and the journalist who leaked the contract just happens to be one of the leaders of the supporters club.
