I think the coverage of care home and community vaccinations in Scotland now near total will hopefully start to show that over coming weeks.Deaths only slightly lower doesnt fill me with confidence that we will see ant significant drop elsewhere, still expecting over 1200 deaths in total to be announced again today. I really hoped these numbers would have been well below 1000 a day on a regular basis and dropping quickly by now :(
The numbers are always high today because of the weekend lag and it is actually down in Scotland and Wales combined by 1 from last week. We will see what happens with the England hospital numbers after yesterday's pretty large fall.
The England problem seems tied into the huge numbers of out of hospital deatrhs being added mid week last week and again yesterday - from out of hospital - so in many cases we have ti suspect - in care homes.
This is why I pushed the 'offered' versus 'had' vaccinations argument yesterday because you have to suspect the data might suggest we were too slow and hae not vaccinated enough and these numbers are still staying high.
And I really really hope I am wrong on that.
But if they do not give a straight answer to the ;how many have actually had it - not been offered it' question - we are bound to look for why non hospital deaths are adding 500 or so deaths every mid week day in England.
