Burnley (A) Post Match Thread

Comfortable win for City.
No idea how VAR didn't award a penalty for the hack on Gab in the box 2nd half, what is going on with pens...Utd get them for blatant dives and we don't get them for blatant kicks. The Referees Association has some feckin explaining to do. Same teams getting the pens every bloody week.
Anyway, back to City.
Strong at the back again although Ederson lost the plot once or twice near the end.
Gundo ran things and looks our most dangerous player.
Raz was hit & miss (again)
Good performance from Mahrez
Rodri very good (again)
Come on Brighton.
And don’t forget the screen wasn’t even working!

All this about Ederson should have been sent off

unless I totally misunderstood what was said in the aftermath of the luiz red and martial dive.. even if it was denying a goal scoring opportunity.. which is stretching it a lot.. he wouldn’t have been sent off anyway cos he made an attempt to get the ball?

i think the gold rule is if the keeper comes out of the box and makes a foul in stopping attack on goal its deemed a red card ? ederson should not be doing shit like in a game already won and before a big game facing liverpool at the weekend ? it could have been red and 3 game ban

Wrapt with the performance, and another 3 points in the bag. Held them to absolutely nothing and dominated the game.

Should've been 4/5 if Sterling could finish and Jesus had a stonewall penalty given.

All in all a great performance, and we are a level above everyone else in the league right now, hopefully Sunday we prove it.

With regards the Jesus pen, it’s the classic scenario that VAR has created to screw us and favour the rags and dippers. IMO it was soft, but the key is that the ref didn’t give it and never had any intention of giving us anything he didn’t have to. Consequently var won’t overrule. However, absolutely nailed on that the rags and dips would both have had the pen given to them in that scenario and of course var wouldn’t overrule as they’d say contact but soft and entitled to go down.

It‘s bollocks, and set up to screw us and keep pigmol’s brown envelopes still coming through.

Peter Walton convinced nobody but himself that VAR made the correct decision about the Jesus penalty. His compelling argument was that firstly the contact was incidental and that secondly the VAR official is entitled to make subjective decisions. Therefore check complete and on with the game.

At least he didn't claim it was an optical illusion like he did to justify a decision in favour of man u once.

The man has no shame. He must be a psychopath or something.

Fooking hell, that made me laugh!

Has to be said you just cannot argue with our stats but how we dont hammer these teams I will never know. think our philosphy has changed in the current circumstances. Its about getting the game safe and then managing it and we do that sooooo well.

Gundogan is our key player right now. Can do everything with economy of movement and effort and injects high quality just when it's needed. Cancelo not as prominent tonight but hopefully he'll be back to his best on Sunday. A very comfortable win.

I don’t know about all you, but for me it was a nice smooth glass of Aberlour and a puff on a Cohiba Exquisitos.

We don’t get many as easy as that!
