Where are you based bud (ie tax resident).

And yes, I’ve been advising on such since 2015 when they became via options.

for anyone interested:

- I'm not going to reiterate what I already wrote about the above and its wider implications at the time, and neither is there any reason for me coming back into this thread after I post this, but I'm shocked as a former member of the NASD that there are (apparently) members and license holders in the UK financial services sector writing such absolute drivel about what was going on last week with regards to GameStop, the height of irresponsibility and latterly (revealed) ignorance and arrogance.. (if you're taking what was posted at face value)

.. and most regrettably, it doesn't matter that this is a football forum.

I’m in Australia
Fire away with any questions.

If you wanna fire me a pm, happy to answer any question. But fwiw, I can’t personally facilitate it as my company doesn’t have a presence in Oz and the Australian regulator demands that. Even happy to give you a call, I won’t have a dog in the fight so to speak.

Notice today that temporary power supplier Aggreko may be the subject of a 2 bn takeover bid.Does this mean shareholders MUST sell their shares if the offer is excepted by the company?

I hold about 1 k of Aggreko shares. Should the takeover take place, you would indeed be forced to sell them at 880 p per share.

Ive had a good but mixed run with Aggreko over the last 11 or so years. I paid £1.11 in a share save employees scheme and had about 18000 originally. They have been as high as over £24 and down to around £5 in the last 10 years.

Advice needed folks :

I invested about 1.5 k into TUI in March when covid initially hit. This has gained me a profit increase to date of just shy of 1k.

I am wondering wether i should take my profit now or risk waiting until travel starts again at which case the 1 k profit will likely end up being 2k profit.

I am worried though that if travel doesn't start again until 2022 it could be BUST completely for companies like TUI.

Any advice is much appreciated ?

Can I ask a question although I'm not well versed in these financial labyrinth?

What's the likelihood TUI would be bailed out by whatever gov it exists under?

Would this not help your decision?

At the minute there is some positive sentiment around travel in the expectation foreign holidays will return this summer.

TUI are one of the operators that had to pay down some debt recently to continue to operate and iirc the cash injection allows them to continue to operate until the summer.

If they are not up and running through the summer then there’s a good possibility they will need to issue more debt to cover costs...

I don’t hold any TUI shares but my advice would be to take the profit now and look to reinvest....if TUI survive the summer there will always be another entry point to buy back in later this year or early next.

Hold.

Once travel starts there will be a mad rush to book and prices will go up. I would also book your holidays now for the second half of the year while there’s some good deals.

The biggest risk is one of those virus mutations negating the impact of the vaccines but so far the only signs are that there is reduced effectiveness for some.

Just my opinion fwiw.

Did you have a price target when you opened the trade? Or what was your plan?

I think there are so many other variables to take into account before someone can answer the question properly. It's kind of difficult to answer when we don't know the size of the position as a proportion of your portfolio, what return you're after? Are you exposed to the travel industry with other companies you hold? Or what do you plan to do with the cash should you sell? Can you put the funds to better use elsewhere? I kind of guess you're not too arsed about risk/drawdown if you're were putting money into GME, but these are all thing I'd be considering.

I know very little on TUI. A quick search shows they did agree a €1.8 support package at the end of last year, with a fair amount of that coming from the German government. I would say that makes them less likely to "be BUST".
