I have a story about Adam Crafton.

A few years ago I went to a European away at Barca in the knock out rounds. I was with a very large group of City fans who were signing and drinking on their way to the Nou Camp. I actually recognised Adam Crafton walking behind us when I looked around. He had a face like a smacked arse.

Anyway, outside the ground I checked my Twitter feed and the first tweet that comes up is one from Adam Crafton who said “Big group of City fans breaking out the Munich songs on the way to the stadium” or something along those lines.

At no point was any Munich song sung by anyone on that journey to the stadium or before, in fact I’m personally someone who absolutely detests people who would dare do so. The mood was in fact incredibly positive.

My honest opinion was that he completely made it up.

Sounds about right

Maybe, but there were always huge question marks with the latter, there are very few with Haaland - he's miles ahead of the other two.

Again. Koulibaly was supposed to be miles ahead of Dias, who was coming off the back of a poor season with Benfica and had huge question marks around his ability. The point I'm trying to make is that we have in this very season proof that it's pointless trying to write players off or elevate others before a transfer has happened.

I agree in part, but Koulibally has been on the decline for a couple of seasons and was never miles ahead of Dias if you know your football.

Its not at all comparable for the reason that those other two strikers are clearly miles behind an improving Haaland.

Obviously glad Dias has paid off but I hope we don’t take as much risk with the Aguero replacement if we don’t get Haaland. I suppose there aren’t many any clear cut and realistic choices when it comes to elite strikers though.

The problem is that Haaland is generational. Makes the comparisons hard. He's basically in a league with 1 other player. Mbappe. Everyone else is miles behind, but a club can't plan or put a list together with just one or two players on it. As confident as I am that Haaland will happen, City will have a list that will account for all eventualities.

In general I think the number 9 position is difficult to buy for right now because there is a dirth of top top ones!

Yep,hence my initial question about the alternative(s).

It does seem like if we miss this kid then we miss out on a player that can genuinely catapult us,and we'll always think what could have been.

Sign Haaland, and the football world will shit itself.

They are shitting themselves at the rumors I can’t imagine what it’ll be like if it happens! Fuck them.
