Erling Haaland

By adding in a player and tearing up the Sancho sell on clause you bring down the amount you actually pay in cash.
I am well aware of that. What posters are saying is throw this player in and let that player go , for punitive amounts. We should always look to get the true market value for our assets and not just get rid because certain posters don't like the player

That’s a massive drop off in talent. Even Benfica fans don’t rate Nunez, and not sure if Daka would suit us. We better get Haaland

As I said last night, don't really understand comments like this. Haaland is in a league with Mbappe alone. Anyone on the planet is a massive drop off from him, but we can't have a transfer policy based on one player.

As for Benfica fans, arsed what they are saying about Nunez, and as for Daka, I reckon that the people who buy players at City have a better idea of who would suit us than you or me.

I imagine it is this summer or not for haaland ahsan?

Even if Jesus would be considered for the main striker role we would still need to buy to replace Sergio. The reality is though they you're never going to replace like for like as Sergio's record is insane. He is probably one of the most underrated players in the league over the last decade (possibly with the exception of David).

I also thing Jesus is massively undervalued because of the comparison to Sergio. Problem for Jesus is he looks like one kind of player but actually plays like another. His hold up play and bringing others into the game is actually pretty good but he looks like he should play like Son. Anyway big digression.

Please get Haaland in. He would score hatfuls in this team. It is like we have a big space in our box ready to just drop him in. He is young enough and seemingly has the desire and attitude to improve but still good enough to play in this team. Players seem to like playing at city so if he hangs around for 10 years and signed for £100m then hes cost us £10m a year. If he moves on after 2 years then he is going for big money sadly as a better player to a rival. Of course he could flop terribly and stink the place out but there is 0 reason to expect that to be the case

Haaland is top quality for his age/position but even he will take time adjusting to Pep's system.

I'm sure he'd score lots of goals from the off but we'll need to be patient with his all round play.

That was kinda my point. Haaland and Mbappe are the only ones that currently would seem like an upgrade on Jesus. Really hope we get Haaland. Nunez and Daka are definitely promising players but look very very raw at the moment

I don't think Jesus comes into it - this is about replacing Kun in the squad as I reckon Kun will end up going this summer.

The only doubt about Haaland is when he plays for a club where there is real pressure you have to win you have to perform.

He seems like a pretty determined lad. Kinda player who’ll always strive to improve, i reckon he’d be fine

Haalands next move will be his last for a good few years unless something goes seriously awry. There's no way we'd sign him on a 6, 8 or even 10 year contract (nobody else is going to offer less than 6 years to safe guard the investment) and then let him go after 2 years.

I know it still seems odd to say it (for us older posters anyway) but we're as big a club as you can get nowadays. There is no 'moving up' from us.

Jesus is the perfect second striker to accompany Haaland or whoever replaces Sergio. He can play wide, he can play like a false 9 dropping deep and obviously he could play in a 2 should be ever do that. His energy and pressing could give us something new from the bench if things aren’t going our way too. I’m assuming we will keep him as long as we can keep him happy. This season should help with that as he’s playing every game.

Champions League nights are big pressure games for players, its the elite competition, if you play for Red Bull, Dortmund or City and he seems to score every time he plays in the CL. MY doubts are more if the club can get a deal over the line given we don't break or fee/wage structure or entertain bidding wars and the lad has the best agent for players in the game aswell as himself!
