Come the Summer we will see.

Various Twitter hacks saying he is coming
Various Twitter hacks saying he is not coming
Various Twitter hacks saying his signing is imminent
Various reports of private jets on radar travelling from Dortmund
Various Twitter accounts saying Madrid are hijacking the deal
His odds on joining City will go like this 10-1 8-1 4-1 5/2 evens 4/6 8/13 2-1 5-1 8-1 12-1 20-1
There will reports of him checking in at the Lowry
There will be reports of him meeting the Rags
Txiki will try to haggle the price down from 100m to 97.5m
City will announce we are looking at other options
He will sign elsewhere
We will all say we never wanted him anyway

I wish this wasn't true but it's almost a certainty hahaha.

My only worry with Haaland is that despite him being a powerhouse of a young man, he hasn't had to physically battle for his goals as much as Aguero did in LaLiga. It seems like his goals for Dortmund and RedBull were laid on...which could be what we are looking for anyway.

This was just the first youtube I found for Aguero's goals at Athletico Madrid but you can see how he had "earn" his opportunity to shoot with defenders often on his shoulder.

In an ideal world perhaps a year in Spain after Germany would be a better prep for playing in England? Send him to Girona- lol !!!

I just want a striker who will bust a lung to get in and around the six yard box when a cross is about to come in. How many times have we seen a really dangerous ball fizzed in low and our forward is jogging towards the box thirty yards out?

I get that our centre forward is often a part of the build-up and can't be in two places at once but there are so many examples of times when Gabby doesn't recognise the opportunity to run across the near post or he drops back to the penalty spot at the last second when it's obvious that the ball is about to be played straight across the six yard box.

A forward who can stay fit and with Aguero/ Sterling poaching instincts will break all sorts of records for us.

Missing chances is always levelled at Sterling and Jesus but all the team contrive to miss sitters by over elaborating. If we took every chance we create we'd be scoring over 250 per season at least

Wasn't Haaland initially quite small for his age but had a huge growth spurt? Presuming he's always been a striker, I'd have thought he learnt the game having to fight for every scrap.

I think the comparison with Aguero is disservice to Halland. Kun is one of the greatest talent of his generation and Haaland full have to perform like this for next 10-12 years to mention in the same breath.
So Haaland game, physicality, technical prowess should be compared to players in his generation and among them he is best.
We bought the best of the last generation. Hopefully we will buy the best of this generation too.
Kun was always special, he can't be replaced :(
One of the greatest!

Haaland is a beast but I just can't see Pep wanting him. We have the only fit striker in a team right now in Jesus and Pep still plays with a false 9 (I mean the logic tells Pep should play Jesus every game). I can't see how Haaland would suit a team that plays possession-based football.

We need someone like Joao Felix or Dybala. Small, good in tight spaces, intricate feet movement PLUS a good finisher.

...Messi?

I think this season has taught us all how adept Pep is to change the system and roles of the players to the team.

Pep will once again adapt to ensure we carry on our formidable progression.

Haaland will fit the system if Pep thinks he can.

Peps comments were interesting in the last week when talking about strikers...he said something along the lines of that he prefers his strikers to be able to drop deep,be more flexible and not just lead the line/stay upfront/play on the shoulder of the last man or something like that anyway.

ive not watched Haaland enough to know whether or not he fits with what Pep is saying here.....anyone know if he does or can play like this. I konw he is fast and strong but does he have the link up play that we all know Pep desires.....

then again maybe Pep will adapt with what he wants as well as he is constantly saying we need to be more clinical infront of goal and Haalands I believe is clinical.

Also Haaland comes across as the type of player (very driven) that seems to want to learn so maybe the thought of learning to play in a different way this will motivate him to move here?

This is him in just 2021. Interestingly it also shows shots that are saved/missed as well not just the ones he scores.

Clubs can always pay him a discreet £10m retainer this summer if Dortmund do get arsey over his valuation?

It must be a consideration for his club that other teams will struggle to raise the funds for £90m-plus this year.
Do you think we will hold off for a year due to finances? Think iI read somewhere earlier that clubs are expected to lose bout an average of 300m each due to the loss of revenue

If Dortmund miss out on the Champions League they may be forced to sell him this summer.

We've posted small profits for the previous 5(?) seasons although the last one hasn't been published yet. With the restrictions eased already for CV19 I've no doubt that we can work a long term deal for Haaland at £100mill somehow. I can't see him on less than a 6 year contract and maybe longer than that.

Edit: I'd be expecting more easing of FFP regardless.

Maybe but we're arguably in the best position. Winning the Prem, plus a good run in the CL will give us a lot of money to work with. We've got the Etihad deal coming up for renewal, so we could get a good amount for the stadium naming rights and the shirt sponsor. We're adding new sponsors and have the Silverlake investment (not sure if that's already been allocated).

Dortmund are reportedly looking to sell up to 8 first team players. If we paid 50% up front and the rest in installments, if they sell Sancho as well, maybe it'd work out for both.
