Erling Haaland

I have heard from a pretty good source that we will not be signing Haaland. In fact the source said there are no plans at all to sign a new forward.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up, i rarely ever post what my source says, but he has never once been wrong.

Don't ask who it is either, i will not say, i trust the man and he is a good fella whose company I enjoy,
what a shame

I know some people here are quick to believe anyone who says the club isn’t interested in Haaland despite all evidence to the contrary, but believing “there are no plans at all to sign a new forward” is a bit too much, no? Lol Alice in Wonderland was more believable

What did they say about Sir Messi?

What did they say about Sir Messi?
The very trusted source heard that Messi was promised we will change the name of the Etihad to Messi is better than Cristiano Stadium, if he comes. And he was also promised two hundred white puppies.

He has received duff info.
I can't imagine the same owners who pulled the masterstroke of the Dias signing just be like "Aguero replacement? No, we don't want that." It would be a shame if we pass up on him and he goes to a rival Prem club.

That info can also be outdated. Boards and players change their minds all the time.

You don't know my source.

If you knew you certainly would not call him ridiculous.
There are at least two other posters in this thread with thousands of posts to their accounts who also say they heard the opposite from inside the club. I didn’t believe them and I don’t believe you because I know how this club operates. A good source wouldn’t be going around rattling about transfers. I am myself a journalist and I have dealt with sources for a living. Like I said, when you say the club is not only not interested in Haaland but in any forward at all, it’s impossible to believe.

However, I will grant you the benefit of the doubt. Let’s assume you did hear this from someone from inside the club. Did it occur to you that the last thing they want is for people to be talking about how we want a specific player? It’s terrible for the deal making side of things. If the other side knows you want something they have, the price automatically goes up. That would also explain the “no forward at all” info — any agent representing a forward would increase their prices in case our interest was open, and agents talk among themselves, they can act as a group sometimes. It’s no coincidence that everytime a report comes out about our interest in Haaland, one or two days later a different report pops out about us also being interested in other names, as if to say we have alternatives depending on how Dortmund behaves. This happened literally last week. It’s a routine that has been happening for at least a couple of months now, and the media vehicles that have been reporting the “follow up stories“ make me even more suspicious and somewhat certain that the Haaland operation is definitely on. I don’t want to keep bringing my journalist card up because I know how it could sound arrogant, but I know how these things work behind the scenes.

You saying Alice isn't real?

Miggsey? Delooney? Harris? Holt? Oliver?

You can't drop the Journalist word in and leave it at that.

I never said it was from a person at the club. In fact they are not from the club at all and as a journalist fishing for information you will understand why I will not reveal the name.

I think we are doing just fine without an "elite striker", you always hear Pep bragging we are not a "One Man" team.
What he actually said was:

“We don’t have a single player who can win a game, we don’t have a Cristiano, a Messi, a Neymar,” said Guardiola. “We don’t have these types of players who can win games by themselves. I told the players many times, you have to play as a team.

“I will be honest. I’d like to have a player to score, every single game, four goals and run like these players can run. I would love it.”

Weird you missed the last part off.

I am not asking you to reveal a source’s name because honestly it wouldn’t make any difference. But you just made your whole info even less believable with that admission. Even if it doesn’t happen, you don’t get to say “I told you so”.
