There are at least two other posters in this thread with thousands of posts to their accounts who also say they heard the opposite from inside the club. I didn’t believe them and I don’t believe you because I know how this club operates. A good source wouldn’t be going around rattling about transfers. I am myself a journalist and I have dealt with sources for a living. Like I said, when you say the club is not only not interested in Haaland but in any forward at all, it’s impossible to believe.
However, I will grant you the benefit of the doubt. Let’s assume you did hear this from someone from inside the club. Did it occur to you that the last thing they want is for people to be talking about how we want a specific player? It’s terrible for the deal making side of things. If the other side knows you want something they have, the price automatically goes up. That would also explain the “no forward at all” info — any agent representing a forward would increase their prices in case our interest was open, and agents talk among themselves, they can act as a group sometimes. It’s no coincidence that everytime a report comes out about our interest in Haaland, one or two days later a different report pops out about us also being interested in other names, as if to say we have alternatives depending on how Dortmund behaves. This happened literally last week. It’s a routine that has been happening for at least a couple of months now, and the media vehicles that have been reporting the “follow up stories“ make me even more suspicious and somewhat certain that the Haaland operation is definitely on. I don’t want to keep bringing my journalist card up because I know how it could sound arrogant, but I know how these things work behind the scenes.
