Thanks - didn't realize it had a comedy slant.Watched about four gave up is it a comedy or not.
That's the initial premise, but i'm not convinced the show will keep it up.Thanks - didn't realize it had a comedy slant.
Try “Lupin” on Netflix. Three episodes in and it’s slick, exciting and isnt about muderers or people who wear their undies outside their trousers.Don't know if anyone else feels the same, but I just don't find anything decent anymore. Can't watch superhero/fantasy shite, bored of nordic noir and murder stories. Only thing I'm looking forward to is the next Succession and Fargo (if it turns up anywhere over here). Was going to watch the latest series of Back but missed the first few episodes and they've dropped off catch up now so will give it a miss.
Have actually started cancelling most of my subscriptions as I tend to watch a lot of the old stuff on ITV4 and UK Gold.
You'll be a bit stuck again soon for a few months though as there's only 5 episodes available until the Summer.Try “Lupin” on Netflix. Three episodes in and it’s slick, exciting and isnt about muderers or people who wear their undies outside their trousers.

Yes. A bit annoying but I’m sure I’ll find other stuff to watch in the meantime. Going to start watching “The Stand” tomorrow. You'll be a bit stuck again soon for a few months though as there's only 5 episodes available until the Summer.
This looks really good.
Doh! Sorry for some reason I posted in here instead of the trailer thread. There's a trailer thread for stuff that are... trailers.
Not sure why this trailer for a film is in the TV thread?
Starts very well but once Flagg's New Vegas becomes the centre of the story, it just bombs. Bit like the book. Loved the first 700-800 pages but once it hits Vegas it just gets silly. Finally watched the first episode of "The Stand" last night - I've been waiting for the episode backlog to build up so I can watch them all in the next two weeks.
Thought it was brilliant. Having read the book a month ago, I'm in a good position to judge how faithful the screenplay it is and after the first episode, I can see that the producers are treating the source material with respect. Yes, there are a few minor changes, but on the whole it flows very nicely with the first episode focusing on Stu, Fran and Harold.
What I would say is that the timeline may confuse those not familiar with the book - it starts off in Boulder, then flashes back 5 months to the start of the pandemic and then jumps around a bit in between. One choice that I found very odd was ending the first episode with Campion escaping the bio lab thus unleashing the virus. But we'd already seen him crash his car in the the filling station earlier in the episode. A minor niggle that won't be a problem to those who have read the book, but could confuse a few who haven't.
Great start and love the music choices - a Blitzen Trapper track gets a look in and the choice of Billy Joel's "The Stranger" for when Randall Flag first appears is inspired.
