United thread 2020/21

I haven’t seen it mentioned, but City has never been a team to go and buy very expensive players. Pogba was the highest priced Premier League signing ever, according to Transfermarkt. The rags have the top 3 spots and arse, dippers and chelsea all have bigger signings than our most expensive - KdB at £68.4 million (thought is was a lot less, like £50). Pogba was 40% more expensive!

We have filled our team with quality signings that satisfy certain criteria, of which fame seems to be of little consequence. Paying what dippers did for van dijk was foolish and demonstrates the short term thinking of their management. A big, strong pacey Cb in his late twenties for that price is just asking for what happened to happen.

It’s like these dumb fucks don’t understand that when you buy a player at 26/27 they’re a depreciating asset. When you buy them at 23, there is potential for their value to meaningfully increase. How this is lost on them is beyond me.
KDB was £55m, the exchange rate changes have fucked up all transfermarkt's sterling fees.

I know people are saying this is part and parcel, and they may at least partly be right, but compare that with our centre half Ruben dias (and the happy camp on the whole):

Bit more from that creep luckhurst. Looks like it's all getting them:

Ole might be too weak to see this out I'm afraid

Be interesting how much they have lost in there accounts today?! Ole was saying that they ain’t got much to spend and will rely on there academy!
In January they bought a young player firm America where fee was reported it was in single figures rising to 38m now that seems like one way the glazers get more money out the club? Looks dodgy as fuck. Also they ship out a few players reckon they’ll offer 50m for Sancho

First one above should be filed under a wannabe reality TV knob who regularly shows absolutely no interest in kicking a ball about..

2nd one looks like someone who's won a competition on the back of a cornflakes box to "be a footballer for a season"

3rd one has been clinically certified as allergic to round objects that are larger than a donut.. so much so he's been known to spend most of his weekends diving out of the way if one comes within 6 foot of him..

The last one is why the phrases "rabbit in the headlights" and "what the fuck have I done ?" were invented..

Bought for millions, now worth hundreds and he's only been there for 27 games ffs..

Think on, all of the above shower have been assembled for just your half a billion pounds by a shrewd CEO who knows his pot noodles from his chevvy pick up trucks..

The whole cluster fuck is expertly overseen by a clueless patsy who word has it, lets a drunken jock use his carparking space at his place of work..

A shocking performance tonight against a poor Palace team who could and should have won it in the end themselves..

14 points behind the runaway league leaders with 11 games left..

Their collective arses are now well and truly twitching as the look over their shoulder at the chasing pack..

Still chin up, not all is lost, there's always the next game to put things right..!
I love it when you mince your words

Because the rest of the league is garbage and has been for years now with the exception of Liverpool in the last couple of years.
This is probably a reply that goes in another topic, rather than the Rags’ thread...but... That’s far too simplistic a view. And incorrect, for me.

I’d say, in recent years the quality from 7th to about mid-table in the Chmapionship is the best there’s ever been in English football. Bottom half Prem teams, teams who get relegated from the Prem, buy players from teams who play in the CL.

Teams like Spurs Everton Villa have got cracking squads that would qualify for the CL in other leagues. We regularly have games against relegation Prem teams, or Cup games against decent Championship teams, harder than CL Group Stage games.

Prem teams get the TV revenue money of La Liga and Bundesliga teams combined! And I think it’s really started to show over recent years. Look at Watford’s squad last season when they got relegated. They had a better squad than Rangers have this season or Celtic had over the seasons previous, and they went down from the Prem.

The level of coaching, especially from a defensive POV, is absolutely superb across many teams. Allardyce used to get brought in to keep teams up, but he can’t do that these days. The level of coaching has shot up and the days where the likes of Allardyce get jobs will soon be over.

The 3rd-6th placed teams have stayed still though, and the rest have caught them up. At the same time City and Liverpool took it to a level never seen before in English football.

Liverpool have had a bad season so have dipped (haha) but they haven’t got away with it like would happen in other leagues. They’re well down the table and in points because they’re punished by the quality of the rest of the league.

I know I said the quality of coaching shot up in the Prem, but Olly is the exception!

How United thought a bloke who was deemed replaceable with Colin Wanker by Cardiff can be in charge of a half a billion pound squad, is unbelievable!
